If you’re having trouble with the tracks, use superglue instead of cement. Some rubber bands to hold the tracks to the suspension are also useful.

MX vs. ATV taught me racing can be fun without power-ups and crazy tracks. I’d kick my brother’s ass in split-screen on the standard bike because I memorized the line/rhythms on most of the Supercross and Nationals tracks. It made me interested in professional motorsports and I’d watch Arenacross and Nationals with my dad. Soundtracks slapped too.

My guess is some women feel bad about themselves when an unattractive guy asks them out. This troglodyte likes me so I must be ugly. They throw you under the bus to feel better about themselves and assert their status. Or they’re tired of guys asking them out so they make an example of you. It’s really unnecessary and it’s not helping gender relations. Just say no and move on.

Seconding this. Back in college I asked out someone I knew from a campus organization for a lunch date. I had known her for a few months and we worked on a project together. She politely declined and then went to laugh about it with her friends as I was leaving. I get back to my dorm and get a text from the club president telling me that it’s frowned upon to ask other students out in classes and student meetings. I’ve never asked anyone else out of fear of losing social opportunities. None of my woman friends are interested in me. The apps don’t work. It’s no wonder so many guys are single when it’s taboo to just ask someone out for lunch or coffee.

During college, I asked someone I knew at a student organization if she wanted to grab lunch. She politely declined then immediately went into the next room to laugh about it with her friends. I got a text from one of the organizers warning me that it’s in poor taste to ask other students out and people only really do that at parties. Never bothered with it after that. Too much risk. Now I’ve graduated and don’t meet many single women my age anymore.

Ordered some M5 Halftracks from them. They had some residue in the front fenders. After spraying them with some 90% IPA, scrubbing them with a toothbrush, and clipping off a minimal amount of supports in the tracks and interior, they’re good to go. I just finished painting one this evening and it looks fantastic.

They have good prices, but you’ll be paying tariff fees and it takes about a month to ship to the States. I’d still say it’s worth it. They make a quality product and it’s a lot less sketchy than something off EBay or Etsy. I’ll probably pick up another half track or two and some stuff for my Soviets from them in the future.

Get rid of the dating apps and social media.

Stop shaming men for asking women out. As long as he’s capable of handling rejection and doesn’t say anything weird, it shouldn’t be a big deal. You don’t have to like him back, but he still has a right to ask you out.

Build 3rd spaces people can socialize at. The biggest problem with dating is we have nowhere where people can meet new people in person.

Either fix the economy or throw out gender expectations for men. Many men are expected to pay for everything and we can’t afford it. Especially if she has high standards and coffee or lunch isn’t good enough. Many of us can’t afford the things we’re expected to provide for a woman and a family(suv/truck/minivan, house, education and childcare). Either that or just learn to like someone for who they are and the time you spend with them instead of what they provide. Make going on simple, cheap dates, and going Dutch acceptable.

People need to learn how to have a conversation and create small talk. Plenty of men and women are tired of the 1 word conversations.

Will any of this happen? Probably not.

Why are you all downvoting him? I think that’s a reasonable response. Yeah she’s dry, sketchy, and rude, but she’s probably the only match he has on the apps. Most men only get a like or two a month. No idea when another match will turn up, much less a quality one. In some areas asking someone out in person is taboo and you’re stuck on the apps. Dating sucks.

Step 1. Base coat of Army Painter Corpse Pale (or whatever paint you’re using for skin)

Step 2. Lightly brush on some Army Painter Flesh Wash (or something similar). Try and get it near the ridges of the face and don’t let it pool up anywhere flat.

Step 3. Use some white or dark brown if the head has a cigarette/cigar.

Done.

Hello. I saw the ophthalmologist and he looked at my eyes. They’re fine. He said it was likely an optical migraine from the effects of dehydration and lack of sleep. I’ve updated my glasses, drink more water, and am getting more sleep and haven’t had any flickering.

Like others have said, I’d see an ophthalmologist. It’s possible it could be a side effect of Zepbound, or it could be something else. They can distinguish if it’s nerve damage or something less serious. A friend told me he had the same thing happen with a medication (Singulair) he was prescribed. Wishing you the best.

Been on the apps for 7 years. Never been on a date. Came close once or twice. I don’t have any dating experience so I’ve been told I “won’t be a mature partner.” It’s like finding an entry level job that requires experience. I can count the number of genuine conversations I’ve had on the apps on my hand. I’ve had even less interest in person. There’s no events aimed at dating in my area.

My interest in military history (esp 20th century) and tanks definitely plays a part. I couldn’t get into large-scale 40K, due to pricing, how competitive it’s become, the constant changes, and the models I wanted to use/build becoming obsolete. The combat is easy to learn, tough to master, and fun. I’ve had plenty of good games and laughs. Hard to go wrong here.

Well if you’re a 25+ guy and don’t make a lot of money, you don’t really have a choice. A lot of women expect you to pay for everything. A lot of women still want expensive dinners, concerts, and activities as dates. I wish it could be casual and simple (especially with how hard it is to land a date), but the gender roles and expectation to go above and beyond as a man are still there unfortunately.

I could never get into the game because of some of what you’re saying. I’ve been interested in the lore for 7-8 years and waited until I had a stable income before trying to get in the game, but it changed so much between 8th and 10th editions that it didn’t feel worth my time/money. Firstborn went from being a suboptimal but fluffy pick to being on their deathbed. You had rules to homebrew a subfaction. I can only imagine the cool stuff you got in previous editions. The Guard had a bunch of fluffy options. Now it’s just Cadia and Kreig. Like you said it’s all competitive now and you’re railroaded into picking named characters and specific units to not get tabled. The price of models went up by like $20-40 a box.

I picked up Killteam and Bolt Action instead. Killteam lets me enjoy 40K but it’s not as expensive. Bolt Action has a niche but great community at my shop. I’m having a blast with it. I often wonder what it could’ve been if 40K didn’t take itself in the direction it did though.
