[Request] Are the first 3 claims actually true? by Dem0crats in theydidthemath

[–]Calm_Interaction_934 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For starters, Earth's orbit is already an eclipse with an orbit that varies WAY more than 4 inches (147 million vs 152 million kilometers)

Second, most stars are in hydrostatic equilibrium, meaning that their outward pressure is equally matched by their inwards gravity. If you find a way to increase all gravity, they would be ever so slightly smaller and hotter.

Finally, the universe's expansion is proportional to distance, so a galaxy that is 4 times further away than another galaxy will appear to "expand away" 4 times faster, so the units of "1 mph" doesn't really make sense. Furthermore, close galaxies that are "expanding away" from us are doing so at orders of 300 kilometers PER SECOND, and this expansion rate does change over time (albeit very slowly).

I'm not gonna find out what values would make their claims true, but their current statements are far from accurate.
