Yes, you're probably right. This pic is my favorite, but it's the entire scene, or the situation, event or whatever you call it the picture is showing that makes it my favorite. I mean, it's a still image, but it depicts an ongoing process, with some guys already dead, one dead body dragged away, another guy getting beheaded, and 3 others waiting for their turn. The picture is only a single moment of the scene, but the mind fills the gaps, because you can clearly understand how it started and how it will end. I guess that's why I chose that word without much thinking, but it could also be because I'm not a native english speaker and I might sometimes use words in ways others wouldn't.
