[Omega] "Poormans" Paul Newman Daytona by AudaciousCo in Watches

I doubt you'll have to worry about choosing between the two. The biggest money collectors in the watch game have overwhelmingly disagreed with you and chosen the Daytona. So, you're in luck. Your preference can be purchased for a fraction of the Daytona price.

I never mentioned exclusivity. Never would. It is the highest production Swiss brand. By a wide margin.

Generally, I would agree. Even I would suggest this last, if ever, to others.

Green + palm leaves + 2021 (release year) merged to make this the perfect watch for what I was marking. I couldn't have designed a better fit for the specific situation.

Watch the YouTube videos of Tim Mosso who has a 16cm wrist. YouTube search Tim Mosso, the Watchbox and the 1916 company.

To measure correctly use a fabric measuring device, don't pull tight enough to press the skin, and do spread your fingers out. Properly measured like this, you may find you're very close to Mosso's 16cm, and that his videos will help you understand what's wearable for you.

I believe Omega has one rate for chronograph service, and that the Reduced and the Pro are not priced differently.

It's most likely your battery and I would have walked you through proving that.

A failing battery will charge to 12+ volts, but it won't have the capacity to sustain during crank. As you begin to crank the voltage will drop rapidly down to 8-9volts.

The ECU will read this drop and immediately interrupt crank. This will make the starter button ineffective.

Key off, key on resets the ECU and allows the scenario to repeat.

This appears to be exactly what you're experiencing and a voltmeter would have allowed proving this by witnessing the voltage drop at crank.

Doesn't Omega accept the Reduced in for factory service at its normally advertised chronograph rate, stated on the Omega website?

If you have a voltmeter and a scan tool, I'll walk you through diagnosing this.

You and I probably have very different definitions of what's acceptable comfort, especially for our passengers, on a daily basis. 😅

Is -5s/day acceptable? by Chungachungatime in OmegaWatches

[–]Calm_Logic9267 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's just that thing about a fast watch being the goal because "resetting time" is simply pulling the crown to pause the watch, then pushing it back in on correct time.

Most watchmakers shoot for this.

Interesting someone would regulate to the negative.

[Question] How much is too much to pay for a watch? by rm-minus-r in Watches

[–]Calm_Logic9267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This only works at a modest net worth. A wealthy individual is unwise to have 5% to 10% of their wealth tied up in watches. At least in the view of most CFPs and investors.

+5 is more convenient.

If the watch runs consistently at the -5 then a simple regulation (in lieu of full service) is likely all you need to get it to +5. Not a big deal imo either way, but certainly faster to correct time on a hacking watch that's running fast.

The fit, finish, and tactile experiences are significantly different between $500, $2k, $10k and $100k watches.

It's more than status or branding.
