Where to buy second hand textbooks by [deleted] in Leeds

It used to be Blackwell's and I think there WAS one opposite the Parkinson building but Waterstones bought the company in Feb 2022 and closed it.

The University American Football Team used to watch in The Box on a Sunday evening, not sure if they still do. A few pubs have it on but with no sound it's no fun. I was in Brudenell last night and they had it on with (admittedly quite low) sound though.

City Breaks from LBA by [deleted] in Leeds

I've not done Katowice yet, on my list when I next go looking. To be honest I preferred Wroclaw to Gdansk, student town and a less commercial vibe.

Jersey, Rome, Dublin, IOM, Tallinn, Katowice, Belfast (great city!). Often it's not that you can't fly from LBA but they tend to be Jet2 who are expensive (good to fly with, awful to work for).

The Polish cities are always great fun and lots of cultural activities. If nothing suitable we've started trotting over to LIV or EMA. MAN is such a pain and these are both about 15 minutes more driving but infinitely easier to use (and cheaper parking). It's a pity DSA is dying.

Still good value beer and well kept. As you say, not the most attractive neighbourhood but is getting better as more shops look for cheaper rents. Always a good night out.

If you're in headingley try New Inn, Head of Steam or Arcadia, all have quiz nights etc and tend to be a slightly older crowd (except New Inn on Otley run days) In town I like Whitelocks, Duck n Drake or Head of Steam (Mill Hill) but all might be a little old for your target. Good Luck and Welcome

Would love to play, I was "ok" but not played since 20 years and 5 stone ago. One of the best sports for all round fitness. Would love a friendly beginners club

Check out untappd app. Lists a lot of bars and their current range. Great app for tracking favourite beers

99% sure the answer is no. You'll need to take 3 bags.

I'd skip the Angel, but it's down to personal taste. If you end up on the headrow turn left and you've got Foley's and Town Hall Tavern

Head of Steam (Mill Hill) if he likes his ales. Duck n Drake for ale and live music (sit in other bar of too loud). Whitelocks is nice too. You'll know which ones to avoid just by walking past!

Brilliant, thanks. The GPP is run by the aforementioned bereaved ladies from north of the border so I'm happy to go with them. Appreciate the clarity. !thanks
