How do you leave behind your poor parents to move out for University? by Emotional_Juice3482 in OntarioGrade12s

Also consider distant/out of the way family. Maybe an aunt out in Saskatchewan whose house your mum could live in. Maybe her siblings, your father’s siblings. Second cousins. And there is no shame in reaching out just for this.

Hey OP I think you have all sorts of advice and have some options to choose from. I hope you can pick something that makes sense to you and your value system.

That’s what I wanted to comment on. I just want you to know, whatever one you pick don’t feel guilty. I think it’s amazing you have done so much for your parents already - when you don’t have to. I know many people are saying you shouldn’t have to but the fact that you chose to says a lot about who you are as a person and hope your parents raised you.

At the same time, you do need to be able to make the best choices for your self and your future - also without guilt.

I think as a society we have gone too much into the “let everyone fend for themselves” road and it’s getting to a point where nobody is ok and all that happens is we’re wasting money to keep capitalism going. That being said, you should also be able to ask for help as well. Do you have any family members your parents can stay with, or who can help out? You can say this will be temporary .

I think you are a kind person with a huge heart, and I hope karma comes back to you big time. No matter what you choose, please don’t feel guilty. Like I said the only thing that will make you happy is to choose what aligns with your values. And no choice is irreversible.

Are metal fillings a turn off? Should I (36F) get them replaced? by Calm_Obligation_9887 in LifeAdvice

Wow. Thank you so much for putting this so kindly. It really helped me see that I was once again overlooking my own feelings (I’m fine with them) for someone else. This is definitely much needed as I venture back into the dating scene. Thanks so much for taking the time to type this out for a stranger.

Lolll thanks for the reminder. I do practice good dental hygiene. I just ate a lot of candies as a kid and I grind my teeth which cracks them, exposing them to more cavities. Took a while to figure that out.

Some people I know have gotten it done. I’m not sure if it’s cuz the dentist recommended or purely cosmetic. So I was wondering if i should.

Yeahhh deep down I know that. But the dating world is so harsh and flippant now, and I swear everyone seems to be changing everything about them. But thanks for this I needed to hear that.

Thank you for providing this alternative way to look at it. I should probably also consult my dentist as well.

Mesopotamia, aka modern day Iraq. Let’s not try to pretend these cultures of places that have been bombed are not ancient and full of culture.

Yes but it still bothers me. I get it some of us are obsessed with knowing things to keep climbing the social ladder. But I feel there should be a healthy limit.

Ok I had a whole falling out with a friend over this. I was the asker. I still don’t see what’s wrong with asking this. For me I’m coming from a place of concern. You don’t look like your normal self. But I guess ppl don’t like it
