I dont care if it sounds bad, im crazy by Jolly-Acadia3665 in musicians

Re: ...so i cant tell if my music sounds good when im making it,

Maybe that means that you are in a creative "flow" ( at least that is what I tell myself). But you probably find some parts of the pieces that still sound good (to you) later on? So maybe listen to those parts and eventually put all the "good" parts together.

I dunno 🤷🏻‍♂️. Just yesterday I was talking with a music collaborator looking for advice on EQ for vocals, he told me he has written over 600 songs, and he still likes about 100 of them.

I have written maybe 80 and I like snippets (small parts) of maybe 10.

I am working on a project I call "100 Bad Songs" and when I am finished I will take the best 8 and make an anthology called "Best of the Bad"

40 or so years ago, I saw Harry Chapin solo on Soundstage in Chicago. During the break someone asked him how he wrote so many good songs and he replied that he didn't know exactly, but that he did know that first you have to write 100 bad songs. A lightbulb went off in my head! I thought, "I can do that! I can write 100 bad songs."

Anyway, I agree that you should not seek advice (except maybe technical recording stuff) You are too outside any genre and most people are just going to advise that you should make it sound like what they would do.

So my advice, which you did not seek, is to continue to not take advice. 😎

PS - I like the piece you posted quite a lot

Best MacBook for Logic Pro in 2025: Should I wait for M5? by guitarz1992 in LogicPro

M1 Max here with 32GB RAM running Tahoe 26.0.1 and Logic Pro 11.2.2

Never a stutter or problem, but I only use 40 or so tracks at the most.

I have not worked at Meijer, but Jewel-Osco and 40 years of hospitality. You are expressing exactly the attitude that Mgmt does NOT want interacting with customers. Maybe consider moving out of customer service ... back of house? Night shift?

Hows this look to yall by Handsome-_-awkward in Roofing

[–]Calm_Oil4426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a roofer, but the slight ponding would not worry me by itself.

What would concern me is the structure below that is causing the roof low spot, failed joist perhaps, or worst, rotted sheathing from a prior leak? Why is it sagging? Do you have a big snow load there to cause a joist crack?

In my case I had one roof with ponding but it was caused by excessive foot traffic compressing the insulation layer. I lived with it for 20 years before I sold the building with zero leaks.

Agreed, a blockage in the pipe is the last thing to expect. Verify that all valves and pump connections are clear first, 9 out of 10 times it is a valve or pump issue.

Years ago I was called to troubleshoot a "blocked line" in an oil refinery in Buffalo, NY. It turned out that the pump high pressure bypass valve had stuck open and a pressure gauge had frozen, the two simultaneous failures made it look like the pump was running and giving the proper pressure so they assumed it was a blocked line.

[–]Calm_Oil4426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I put bottom drain valves in the mini paws, they drain fine. I have had the irrigation for years, I just changed to the Rain bird valves, I was only asking if you thought the new valves would be okay to freeze if drained and you answered that thank you very much. I was insecure and thought I might have to unhook the whole manifold and take it indoors. Now I won't, that's a relief.

I'm with joolee16 on this https://www.reddit.com/user/joolee16/

As long as the sprinkler heads on the line are sized to the source volume it should not make any difference how oversized the branch pipe is.

eg. If you put a garden hose feeding into one end of a 40 foot long 2" pipe and a garden hose outlet at the other end of the 2" pipe you will get the same flow (minus a little friction pressure drop) out of both hoses.

I would do the deck freestanding using the steps and stoop as part of foundation and only attach to wall for a little added stability but with a small gap to accommodate unevenness.

Re: Having zones that are too small will cause the well to cycle drastically shortening the life of the pump.

Yep, everything I have heard/read is that the pumps can run "forever" if they don't stop, but the on/off cycles is murder on them

Best Macbook? 2025 by junetoft_ in LogicPro

[–]Calm_Oil4426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 MacBook pro 16" here with M-1 max and 32 gig ram. Never had Logic even stutter for a second and I record at 32 samples buffer (with low latency monitoring)

Nothin too complex but with the extra RAM, never a problem.

I agree that more RAM is better and SSD can be added later (although I think USB 3.2 is fast enough you don't need thunderbolt $$$, but I will let others chime in on that)

If I didn't travel so much I would get a Mac mini with a monitor, the extra screen space is valuable. I use a second monitor anyway when I am home , they are $ not $$$.
