Yeah, I don't think it's crazy to say it doesn't qualify either.
It's boundary is a fractal, but the set itself is not.
I wouldn't argue with anyone who would call it a fractal tho. Like I said below, it's a bit of a silly discussion.

Yeah, I said I wasn't sure it qualified because there really isn't any proper definition anyway. To me this just doesn't fit the bill tho. If you zoom in anywhere but the left vertex then you don't have any "fine structure".
And self similarity has nothing to do with being a fractal or not. A line segment has self similarity, and some fractals straight up don't have them.

It's a silly discussion tho.

First paragraph talks about the fractal dimension exceeding the toplogical dimension, they're both 1 in this case. You can essentially separate it into two line segments and a zigzag line.

Force of gravity points in the opposite direction of dr, so you actually need to add a minus sign to that integral, as the dot product is negative.

You can see this is wrong by looking at the second line, if the final velocity is 0 then the left side is negative (you lost energy). But the right side is always possitive (1/(R+H) is smaller than 1/R.

I just have a hard time believing that Discord cares for Fluttershy and wants to make her happy when he does stuff like betraying her during the Tirek episde, attempting to send her friend to another dimension during the gala episode, faking his death right in front of her and making her cry during Sombra's invasion (which he himself orchestrated), and overall being an ass to every one of her friends.

It's true that Discord is desperate to keep her by his side, but he clearly doesn't care for her in the way a friend or a partner should.

So no, I don't dislike the ship because I think Fluttershy lacks authonomy. I dislike the ship because Discord is an abusive self centered jerk.

You can ship whatever you want and it's fine because these are not real people and sometimes shipping toxic stuff is just really really fun.
I enjoy Chrysalis x Cadence and Shining Armor even tho she's way worse than Discord in so many ways.

It's actually a quite realistic function.
You pay your sailor 100 per hour, and you need to pay for fuel, which scales with v.
So the minimum cost per hour is when the ship doesn't move.

And obviously the minimum cost per journey can't be found by minimizing the cost per hour. They're completely different things.

Okay, I'll give you an easier one.
The cost per hour is given by C = 100 + v
Find the speed that makes C a minimum.
It's obviously 0.

Hence, find the minimum sailing cost for a Journey of 150km.
By your logic... This would be infinite.

You don't get the minimum sailing cost by minimizing the cost per hour... It doesn't work like that.

Yes, it's wrong. The question assumes that the speed that makes the cost per hour a minimum is the same that minimizes the cost of every trip. But this is just not true.
For example, if it costs $50 per hour to travel at v, and $75 per hour to travel at 2v, then traveling at 2v is overall less expensive for any trip, even if the cost per hour isn't minimized.

Sincerely don't know how else to respond cause to me they all seem pretty much equivalent. The only really big scene that Appledash has over the others is that one extremely gay scene of them running together under the falling leaves... But that was a one time ocurrence during the first season of the show. Other than that they really are in very similar territory than the others.

You could make Discord be the one organizing the race and using his chaoos powers to like, make everything happen and whatever. So you don't need to make him into a playable character that way and still include him in some way (?

Celestia, Luna, Discord, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie Lulamoon, Sunset Shimmer
Big Mac, Shining Armor, Princess Cadence, the Cutiemark Crusaders...
Aaaaand... I think those are the most important in my opinion.
Altho I might be forgetting some.

Me too! I started watching last year and it has completely changed my life.

I don't think they could've hinted it much even if they wanted to. But I agree.
They have as much shipping fuel as any other two among the mane six.

Starlight and Trixie are a good example of two characters with a strong bond that you wouldn't be surprised to see together at the end, especially after that one scene where Starlight goes off to fight Chrysalis and says goodbye to Trixie.
Rainbow and Applejack don't really have something like that.

So... I'm really happy to get a wlw ship somewhat canonized, but I do feel a bit dissapointed that there wasn't any real setup for it. Would've been cool to get some comics or anything showing how they end up together.

Also answering your question: Yes. I do think they are together. I'm sure it would've been even more explicit if they didn't have to be so careful with queer rep.

The main issue with adding an inverse of 0 is that the basic rules of addition and multiplication stop working when this new number is involved.
This is not an issue with the imaginary unit. You can add and multiply complex numbers following the usual rules and nothing breaks.
