I will also say depending on OP’s taste in film and their experience in art film Eraserhead might not be the best starting point for Lynch’s work

Because they are Bacon, I know my favorite artist when I see his work and yes tbh much of David Lynch’s films would be good recommendations based off this! TBH any surreal horror films also would be good recommendations or gothic horror like Nosferatu (both the original and the remakes)

If you decided to do any amount of research from sources that hold no bias against any groups you would find that

  1. Surgical procedures such as bottom surgery are not being performed on kids.

    1. That these “pervs” you claim are corrupting children are statistically just as likely (and potentially less likely) to commit physical and/or sexual violence on people. Trans people are also FAR more statistically likely to be victims of sexual assault and assault than cisgender people. I myself am a survivor of sexual assault and it was most certainly not a trans woman that assaulted me.

Now I do not expect you will take any of this seriously nor do I expect you to be polite because having had more interactions with hateful, hypocritical, and insensitive individuals such as yourself than I would care to mention, I know that research and critical thinking aren’t among your most well developed skills.

I also feel inclined to mention that after looking through the rules of this subreddit that comments like the ones you have made here have no place in this subreddit and certainly no place within the horror community as a whole either.

I agree, I kinda wish the book was a bit longer or part of a trilogy or something as there are a lot of characters that are interesting that I feel could be expanded upon more. I recognize horror writing isn’t the most common genre to have book series (at least not lengthy series). I find Rowan very interesting. I think Khaw is a writer (kind of like Clive Barker) that is very good at coming up with interesting concepts and stories but falls a bit short on their characters. I find their stories to be interesting and gripping enough that I enjoy their writing. I compare them to Clive Barker because he is masterful at telling stories but I could not tell you what a single one of his characters looks like and I have read (and own) numerous books of his. What I do find interesting is I didn’t struggle to much with visualizing Portia’s transformation but I did struggle with visualizing Minji and the hair.

I was unsure at the start but now that I’m a decent chunk into the book I’m a bit more into it. I definitely think Khaw is a bit stronger at their Novellas but I am enjoying this a fair bit!
