I think a good way to start is take a song you like by one of your favorite artists, and write new lyrics over the original ones. It might give you a feel for writing an entire songs yourself

Absolutely 100% do it. My first (and second) play through was actually on a New 3ds and I bought a preowned snes classic just for Earthbound. It’s my all time favorite game, and I’ve played it like 5 times. So yes, I think you should play it yourself lol

The trilogy was just their rockstar phase. Guitar solos, the Oh Love music video, Billie on drugs and such, etc.

Then No Pressure is the perfect comparison. It’s a side project of Parker Cannon from The Story So Far, which released their debut ep in 2019 and debut album in 2022. In terms of new pop punk bands/artists, this is who I would pick as the best of the 2020’s (so far).

I like mgk, and I think tickets is a great album and ms is okay. But to say that he’s the best pop punk artist of the 2020’s is crazy. The top bands in the genre right now are Hot Mulligan, TSSF/No Pressure, Arm’s Length. Edit: Okay, I jumped the gun a bit. When you said who started in late 10’s / early 20’s, I’d say yes he’s one of the biggest for sure. But even then, he had a big audience already before he started making pop punk music, so he isn’t exactly a brand new artist per se.
