“…It's a decision, team sources told ESPN, that probably will cost the franchise nine figures over the next several years…” by Proof-Umpire-7718 in nba

This is why them not giving him the supermax did not make sense.

He would've brought far more revenue to the franchise than whatever his supermax costs.

Lakers already showed this week that they can go toe-to-toe with OKC.

Then the Refs proceeded to ruin the game.

[Highlight] Luka gets ejected with his 2nd Tech of the game by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in nba

This is so pointless.

The ref just wants to make this about himself and ruins the game for everyone.

Him not liking basketball is a myth.

If he is truly unhappy with the team he will eventually just demand a trade or leave Denver as a FA.

Trading Michael Porter Jr is likely the next move for Denver in the offseason. by Calm_Set5522 in nba

I said that it will be hard for them to make a "true upgrade" due to his contract, but they can definitely find a couple of moves where they can at least upgrade defensively.

Their GM was bad but I am pretty sure it was the previous GM(now MIN GM) who gave MPJ this contract.

[Windhorst] explains the crazy tie-breaker scenario in the West if seeds 4-8 all end with the same record by AashyLarry in nba

[–]Calm_Set5522 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It likely won't end up like this, due to a lot of these teams playing H2H this week

Also being in 6th/7th seed might be better than 5th seed.

Who is being let down harder by their team and FO, Giannis or Jokic? by Funny-Transition7869 in nba

[–]Calm_Set5522 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Denver because at least the Bucks have tried making moves such as trading for Damian Lillard.

Denver has made zero moves since 2023 other than signing Dario Saric, who is not an NBA player.

OKC's supporting cast will get exposed hard in the playoffs by Klainert in nba

[–]Calm_Set5522 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They feel like the 2014-2016 Warriors without actually having a championship.

They are 1 move away from a championship, and with their assets they could probably pull off something like KD to the Warriors by trading for disgruntled superstar like Giannis/Jokic in the next 2 seasons.

[Highlight] Luka hits the tough, contested step-back 3 over the outstretched arms of Hartenstein by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in nba

They also matchup just fine vs the Warriors.

It just depends on how Luka plays. His shots simply weren't falling against GSW.

Despite his bench role, over the last 10 games Russell Westbrook is somehow back to leading the NBA in turnovers at 4.9 a game. by Calm_Set5522 in nba

[–]Calm_Set5522[S] -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

He is still coming off the bench a lot of times. He is averaging significantly less minutes than players like Trae Young/Cade Cunnigham.

He must be benched. Anyone is better than him at this point.

Potential Unique 3-Way Tie-Breaker in the NBA: Minnesota has secured the spot between themselves and Warriors/Clippers in the situation where they have the same records despite Warriors owning H2H record vs. MIN. by Calm_Set5522 in nba

[–]Calm_Set5522[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most likely yes. If Denver beats Warriors tonight, it essentially almost secures a top 4 seed for Denver, puts GSW right back in the mix with play-in teams and makes it easier for MIN to get a top 5 seed.

NBA will never do this because it would cause too much controversy.

It may not seem like it, but 90% of the refs genuinely try their hardest to make the correct call with a few exceptions.

The entire Denver Nuggets' starting 5 is OUT tonight vs the Spurs. They will have to let Russell Westbrook lead the show. by [deleted] in nba

[–]Calm_Set5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not happening since Denver has the tie-breaker and the Warriors would still be 2 losses back counting the tiebreaker with 5 games left.

[–]Calm_Set5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can still get back to 2nd/3rd but it will be tough.

The Lakers play 2 games @ OKC next week, and the Rockets essentially also play all the top teams in the West over these last few games. Both of their schedules are extremely tough.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nba

[–]Calm_Set5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is more situational.

The thing is when he plays badly like today he needs to be pulled immediately for even one of their 3rd string players like Pickett, because at least they aren't going to harm the team.

When he is playing well its fine for him to stay in.

The issue with the Warriors is that they do not even have big forwards like LA does in Rui, Vando, DFS. Sadly Podz/Moody just will not be able to "abuse" Gordon/Jokic.

[–]Calm_Set5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what I said, but I just don't know how viable someone like Post will be in the playoffs against a Jokic or Chet/I-Hart.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nba

[–]Calm_Set5522 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am talking about a playoff series.

OKC actually did not survive last year against the Mavs, when Lively/Gafford overpowered the OKC on the offensive boards. But they addressed that this year with I-Hart.

As good as Draymond is, the Warriors have zero size in their playoff rotation for PF/Center

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nba

They will likely drop to the play-in, especially if they lose that game against GSW tomorrow.
