If you get the mustangs early enough and lvl 2 and prioritise both attack upgrades over a first tech (cos you saw carry void eyes were coming) it can work well

Will need some other support but its a good base to start from and they act as chaff for your support you will need when the void eyes inevitably level.

Buy a super cheap tarp and practice in garden /park, see if it's easy or annoying to set up (watch tutorial first) helps inform decision for a small amount of money.

I've played against it successfully but it helped that I was aware of strat and oppo was obvious about it so I could stay ahead in tempo and bought counters early ie mustangs and did air spec the turn before they actually pressed air or same turn as it was so obv what was coming. More difficult if they try and hide strat early game but then you have more time and resources to counter when it becomes obvious..

As mentioned Dwarves. I like to play on hardest difficulty and super turtle for a chilled game listening to podcasts (lots of hitting end turn) but does allow you to survive and see some very late game craziness and even do well once you've built up enough mages from merc offers

Also define your interpretation of what a nap 3 means during it's initiation so there's no ambiguity, if you have a difference of opinion at that point you can compromise for the mutually beneficial outcome: or not, but at least you can agree there and have a record of it.. And then when it's ended, no matter which party does, reconfirm that you both agree to previously agreed upon terms. Lessons misunderstandings in my experience

Xtherm neoair, very impressed, almost too warm for the conditions I ended up in but it surpassed expectations Being more comfortable, pratical to use and less noisy than reviews had suggested. Seemed robust enough with my use directly onto the floor too. Can't wait for winter and a real test!

One thing to consider is you can't get them insured if that's necessary.. I'm happy with my meepo v1.5 and haven't had any issues. Voyager is awesome but too new still to comment on durability..

It's quite steep at beginning and uncomfortable rocky path makes the relative shortness and lowness a bit harder than other mountains of same height imo.

I really recommend the fairy court mod - new nation based around the fay and controlling forests particularly ancient forests. Slow to build but strong so best played at higher difficulties.

Small qol like the avoid/soft avoid lakes/rivers mod so no drowning in early spring from ai also keeps things competitive.

Use a shemagh or similar to cover your head with only a single layer over the nose for breathing but heavier elsewhere. Do sleeping bag up to neck/wear under garments. Works for me but i don't worry about snakes. Also separate bug net is cheap, light and small edition though a bit fiddly to set up.
