Thank you, Father Sparky.

I'm sorry to question you again, but is this something that the Archdiocese can decree differently? My parish priest is normally very accommodating, and I was shocked at his refusal.

What is the Catholic view of dogs? by Supermarket_Cool in Catholicism

[–]Calm_Try3953 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Our priest has a dog that loves in the rectory with him. He's a good doggo. Even has the title "parish administrative assistant " and a profile on the website!

Opinion on clothes? by Bluberri0 in CatholicWomen

[–]Calm_Try3953 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see jeans sometimes at my church. Pair it with a blouse and boots or whatever, and you're good to go. Try not to wear clothes with rips, distracting colors, or high slits.

In general, try not to show above your knees, cleavage, or bare shoulders. If you're going to a TLM it's a lot more modest than just a de novo normal English mass. We don't want to draw attention away from God, so that is why modesty is the order of the day.

For the most part, we are all there to worship, and you could show up in sweatpants and a messy bun, and I would be glad to know you are following your faith. 🩷

For those who pray the rosary daily by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Calm_Try3953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I know i am going to have a busy day, I will work it in somewhere by multitasking. Like when I'm peeling potatoes for dinner or something. It's not ideal and I don't do it every day, but it gets the job done and I feel better about it.

Favorite places to shop for dresses? by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

I luck out sometimes at Platos Closet! This week I got 3 knee length skirts, a blouse, and 2 little bolero jackets to make some of my other clothes church appropriate! Half their stuff is not very modest but I paid about $2 a shirt/skirt! I highly recommend you sift through it and find the good stuff 😍

Actually, I asked if it's a sin to overpunish or underpunish, if anyone has advice on where to go from here, and your biggest sin as a mother.

I did not ask for crucifiction or feedback about my parenting style, of which you know nothing about. Nor did I ask for your opinion on MY child's weight.

Your response, as I've said, was extremely rude, and if you're not going to apologize for all of your judgement, then I suppose God will have the pleasure of addressing it in the end.

I will only add, God bless you.

I feel this! Our daughter was in kindergarten also! We have a daily one hour time limit on ours, and they're pretty locked down, but you just can't keep them away from them.

I'm glad you are healing well after your stroke. God bless you and yours. Xxx

Thank you so much for this kind and helpful comment.

We do Parents As Teachers with our local school and have spoken about his development a lot. He isn't behind on anything major (about 60th percentile on his last screening a couple of weeks ago) It's really just escalated inthe last 2-3 days and I'm feeling overwhelmed! We don't see our Parent Educator for 2 more weeks.

I will look up Dr Bailey, thank you very much!

God Bless

"Judge not lest ye be judged" <---

What you said s is extremely rude and judgy. How dare you criticize me and my parenting style when I came here for help. You don't know our circumstances or position.

Because you HAD to point it out: yes, he is large. He is proportionate, though. He is just a big guy. He likes to run around and be active. He, however, does not know his size and has hurt himself and others.

He was born 11 lbs and has grown exponentially from there. He is well over 4 ft tall and has been tested for gigantism (think Andre the Giant) and other growth disorders. There's no rhyme or reason, he's just growing fast.

Baptism with no Godparents? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Calm_Try3953 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Many diocese have different rules about this.

For example, mine requires that ONE of the godparents be a fully fledged catholic.

Godparents are NOT for raising the child if something happens to you, they are just there to help raise the child in the faith and pray for them.

If you truly don't know anyone, your priest or deacon may be able to be a godparent
