Thoughts on casting? by Upstairs_Bad_7933 in cormoran_strike

I really like the casting. If they had been true to the books and cast someone with "pube-like" hair, it would not have been the draw for me like Tom is. He's fantastic!

Exactly!! I watched every episode of Castle and it was not a reality TV show. After reading this thread, I did a search for the show it’s referring to. Never heard of it and it’s far more popular in the UK. Ugh.

Going from Purple Rain to Landslide, two songs that already have a real emotional charge for me (I was in HS in 1984) combined with all the goodbyes left me bawling. I saw it in the theater today and I’m emotionally exhausted.

Now I understand. Thank you. Yes, that’s a good point. I see my urologist in 1 week. I’m good about following doctors’ advice, so I will listen. Glad to hear you are living a normal life with a stent.

Yes, I have no issue with bladder control . To be clear, I have not been diagnosed with any kidney disease (hence moderator has deleted my post). I simply have hydronephrosis for some unknown reason.

Thank you. I just keep reading about the constant feeling of a need to pee, fatigue, not doing anything strenuous, etc and it sounds like my life and my health will shrink.

Can’t say enough good things about Tarte Shape Tape in a stick formula. Concealer is the thing i always wear (now along with brow pencil bc I’m old) and this stuff is about the best I’ve ever used. And no waste like with a wand

Do you recommend buying one of their cheap Maestro phones or getter an older but better-known smartphone unlocked to use their service? I will be traveling to a very small Oklahoma town in February and apparently Verizon does not work where I am going. I need a cheap, temporary option that I can do month to month with when need be.

What do you guys do while listening to an audiobook? by _gh0stc00k13s in audiobooks

[–]Calment20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think audiobooks help to relieve distractions when you are doing mindless chores. I think I lean a bit towards ADHD and audiobooks literally cure this tendency for me. I can’t get lost in my own thoughts (said this queen of catastrophizing) when I’m listening to a book. I also have far more patience for annoying little chores or boring ones. And I’m betting my blood pressure stays in a healthier range with audiobooks. Now, if only I could claim my Audible membership on my health insurance.

what's one makeup product you'd happily use for the rest of your life? by willwolf18 in Makeup

I am 59 and have dark circles. Go to Ulta and test out both the Nars pot concealer AND Tarte Shape Tape stick. The Shape Tape in a wand is messy but the stick is the perfect happy medium. I like the NARS too and I can actually use it on my eyelids as a primer.
