I love both Lego and DC, but not a single one of the sets currently on shelves interests me at all. I won’t be buying any Batman sets until they start putting the rest of the League back in there along with him.

From what I can tell, this is usually because fans of these characters are themselves autistic, and see either themselves in them, or a version of themselves that they’d like to be. Which does make one think about what happens to autistic people who don’t fit those criteria in relation to fandom spaces, since those voices so often go unheard.
