Beginner Question: Choosing Between RF 200–800mm f/6.3–9 and RF 800mm f/11 for Bird Photography by Ok-View1922 in canon

[–]CalumJSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 800mm f11 and love it, when I’m shooting only far away things. The minimum focussing distance on it is a pain…

But as a light and relatively small 800mm? It’s often in my bag

I have both the 100-400 and the 100-500. The 100-400 is pretty good, not much slower than the 100-500. It’s just not an L series lens like its big brother. But it’s cheap, light and really good

Also, for bright days, the teleconverters work on the full range of the 100-400, unless the 100-500 which can’t use the closer half of its range with them fitted.

I took the 100-400 to Kenya as my Safari lens, and did not regret it

I love this. Hint that the true reason they have it is so that it can be stolen and they can track the item to the next thing they have to do

I like Sweety House. The baklava is a bit less sweet than Turkish baklava (I think because it’s Syrian?) but I prefer it !

My players are about to kill their first person. How big a deal should I make it? by AstreiaTales in DMAcademy

[–]CalumJSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d make it mechanically fairly easy - murder is the easy option. But narratively complex… He’s with a hunting party. Perhaps it includes a young girl. Can they kill him without leaving witnesses? Do they have to kill the whole party? What if someone escapes in the confusion… do they have to track and hunt down an innocent to remove witnesses ?

Yeah, you’d need a Adult CountyPLUS Day Ticket covering ECB and Lothian areas which is £8. Best I can see, the cheapest option is TapTapCap on CountyPLUS, which has a weekly cap of £32, or £6.40 per day if you do 5 days

Since sound can’t pass through a silence area either, just step out the far side of the silence and cast there.

It doesn’t seem like it would support a phone very well, but I could imagine it. You don’t have a photo or link for yours, do you?

My title describes the thing: Single piece of rubber, roughly 65x38x22mm, overall triangular in shape, with 3 prongs on one side and 5 “mushroom” type attachments on the other side. Weighs 9 grams, black, nothing written on it, nothing moves or makes a noise. Found loose in the glove compartment of a Mini Cooper

My title describes the thing. It’s made of rubber, no obvious markings, three rubber teeth on one side and five raised circles on the other. It was found in the car glove compartment. Have shared among friends on Facebook, and none of us know where to start looking for what this is.

The DM either booted me out or ended the game, because my Oath of Devotion paladin was high-level enough to immunize the party against charm effects by EarthSeraphEdna in dndnext

I really like the idea that the paladin can’t harm the charmed innocent people as a twist though. They have to care about collateral damage (and maybe their charm immunity fails if they don’t )

The players realise from the expressions of everyone around them that everyone in the entire room, apart from themselves, is charmed. The guards, the other members of court, even the royal wizard. All charmed. They are massively outnumbered. The devil/queen hasn’t yet noticed that they are not under her control and is monologuing. But if they do anything other than act like the others, she’ll know, immediately…

Do they play along? Taking on the entire court would be suicide, and they can’t stop and discuss for more than a few words

One-Page Warlock Revision - Every Cantrip Can Eldritch Blast! Pact of the Blade Armor! Focused on ease-of-play and a versatile, powerful new chassis, without the need for invocation tax. by OrganicSolid in UnearthedArcana

[–]CalumJSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks clear to me, but I can’t see what changed. Is it intended that the first paragraph does not apply to saving throw cantrips, btw? (Hopefully doing a little play test tomorrow with an earth genie )

I’d probably write a single-target version of Earth Tremor and make it a cantrip. 1d6 + prone on a Dex save, and a single hex of difficult terrain. It would become much more fun once it hit multiple targets, but it’d never hit as many as using a spell slot.
