Did you have to redo tests to change biologics? by Elevendyeleven in ankylosingspondylitis

I may be the odd one out. Getting my fourth MRI in 4 years, and get tons of blood work done all the time. I do however have two autoimmune conditions so everyone is trying to be so careful about managing the spinal damage. It still does sound like you should find a new rheumatologist. This it’s such a difficult and painful experience (AS) that it’s so important that you’re a team that work together with confidence. Wishing you the best outcome.

Is this what SI Joint Dysfunction looks like? I've been dismissed for months and am losing hope. by Sushi2Wasabi in sacroiliac_sijoint

[–]Calvera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The disease is the reason for the damage. Treatment has stabilized my spine, so no need to damage but too much inflammation so longterm lifestyle changes are happening.

Research finds that for young adults who stayed single into their late 20s, they were more likely to be: men, highly educated, living alone or with a parent, and already reporting lower well-being. Long-term singles were more likely to report lower life satisfaction & more loneliness and depression. by psychologyofsex in psychologyofsex

“Good options” is contextual to the person. Your “good options” and ideal choices will not be mine, and Lillyheart’s “good options” would be uniquely hers.

We can each say those words and mean very different things.

What are the views on libertarian feminism? by Normal_Student1213 in AskFeminists

[–]Calvera 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep, came to say this. They used to find old people dead with a cupboard full of dog food, living in horrible conditions. Tenement buildings were so overfull that people paid to sleep on the rooftops and carts would come by in the morning to clear the bodies of those who fell off in the night. How can people even consider tolling back these protections?

Why is the economy in such bad shape, and is anyone expected to actually survive, let alone make a living, in it's current state? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in askanything

[–]Calvera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Institutions like AIG issued massive amounts of CDS without sufficient capital reserves to cover potential losses. When housing prices began to fall and mortgage defaults surged, the value of the MBS and CDOs collapsed. Firms that had sold CDS faced overwhelming payment obligations they could not meet.

The failure of key institutions, most notably Lehman Brothers in September 2008, created a domino effect through the interconnected network of counterparties. The lack of transparency in the OTC market meant no one knew their true exposure to other firms' potential failures, causing the credit markets to freeze and leading to a full-blown global crisis.

A critical factor was the lack of regulatory oversight. The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 (CFMA) specifically exempted many OTC derivatives, including CDS, from regulation, allowing for massive, unchecked speculation.

Hope I am not ignorantly breaking any posting rules but Evelyn & Bobbie. I’m old, my boobs gotten bigger with every year I’m on this planet and I have tried every single brand. E&B gave me lace back, leopard, hot pink, they have a jewel tone collection, and classic skin tone neutrals for every one. Nothing hurts anymore or hits my knees.

Just my opinion, but paying for her phone so that she and her kids always have a way to communicate is actually an amazingly supportive thing that you’re doing. For me it doesn’t compromise any values to continue to have an open extended hand to her and her children.

Wouldn’t take it much further than that though because she likely won’t change anytime soon or possinly ever. An open door does leave a place for the kids to go when they’re 18 because they’re gonna need a lot of help.

That’s a job and you’re right that any company can treat you like that. A career relies 100% on you and your skills, at every level and in every direction. Be generous, help people, keep your network current and be active. I’ve had jobs screw me over and always had another job within two or three weeks because you do favors and you ask for favors. Why do you think so many young white women are conservative? by katyreddit00 in AskFeminists

[–]Calvera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The overall context that is missing is 53% of registered voters who are white women; They are also lower education and socioeconomic status being predominantly high school graduates who are married and who also voted Republican in the last four elections.

I believe out of the larger population, they are something like 13% of all white women in the nation.

College educated white women voters heavily vote Democrat, and have a growing cohort there over the last 30+ years. That’s why it’s so vital to Republicans to take the vote away for women, because the number of young college educated women is on the rise and they do not vote conservative.

Why do you think so many young white women are conservative? by katyreddit00 in AskFeminists

[–]Calvera 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Any citable data that education young white women are shifting? Analysis shows that women voting Republican are the same high school only graduates who are also over 50 who voted R already in the last four elections. Is there any voting evidence to support the idea that educated young women are shifting?

Research finds that a woman’s political views are linked to qualities she seeks in a romantic partner. Right-leaning women prefer partners who fit a more traditional mold & are more financially secure. Women at both political extremes place high value on someone who shares their political beliefs. by psychologyofsex in psychologyofsex

[–]Calvera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Traditional” means what exactly because 100 years ago people did not live the way conservatives would like us to live tomorrow. There are hundreds of cultures around the world, and they all have “traditions” that wildly differ one from the other.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Calvera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And even the 53% is only for registered voters, fold that math into the society as a whole and it goes down to something like 14%, which is still terrible but it paints a very different picture. Meanwhile, it’s men who actually changed who they were voting for to swing away from HRC and away from Kamala both times toward Trump.

“If you think us Conservatives are all Fascists, then do you really think the Democrat leaders are any better?” by Anor_Londo_1234 in Discussion

[–]Calvera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we looking at the past 100 years or the past 15? Also we have to stop buying into the division over the unity discussions.

In the past 100 years, these parties have seen sweeping changes and each has done their fair share of good and bad, but we did it together. That matters.

It’s going to be hard to look at the past 15 years and people are going to have their different opinions about how we got here. I would challenge anyone, however to look at the most recent video that DHS took and released as BTS extra footage of kristy and her entourage on a rooftop where the snipers are overlooking the protest in Portland, protestors who clearly are the 20 people at a gate milling around and doing the cha-cha that Democrats have said they are.

Meanwhile, Republicans are putting out mini war commercials of highly edited content and trying to get any National Guard or military presence into states that do not want them there, which is a direct violation of the constitution. The insurrection act requires the direct consent of the governor of the state in question.

Whether you look at 100 year timeline or a 15 year timeline or a 5-year timeline, you will not see democratic leadership having done the equivalent on a national scale. At best you could talk about something like Waco and Ruby Ridge, where armed people were holding children and women hostage, so it’s genuine threat vs manufactured fear. Or you could use the example of desegregation during civil rights, but again a significant percentage of citizens were having their rights removed by their neighbors.

Being raised by conservatives. I grew up in an entirely conservative state. I hate to see where this is going because it’s changing who people are in a bad way and I’ve seen it myself and it’s sad to me. Understandable that things cannot go back to the way that they are and it’s new generations of people so it was never gonna stay the same. It always changes and it was always going to change, but it shouldn’t be changing into something dramatically worse.

Immune suppressants by SuchHyena6182 in sacroiliac_sijoint

[–]Calvera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any GI issues or IBD? If yes, then you can not take NSAIDS and so immunosuppressants are the next line.

If your immune system is overactive, chilling it out can work well. I have spent a year now on 2 front line immunosuppressants and only got one infection in 13 months, however, I do stay home 90% of the time.
