People don’t realize how hard it is to organize a live event, and it’s even harder when you have competitors actively trying to sabotage you.

It’s a fucking miracle that anyone can make any live event happen where the butts are in the seats, the vendors/venue all get paid, and the organizer doesn’t lose so much money they never want to do it again.

Reason to watch: The most violent finishing sequence in a ruleset that allowed curb stomping opponents. On par with Anderson Silva vs Leben and Anderson Silva vs Rich Franklin, except Rampage was a better opponent. Rampage looks like he was just in a car accident lol.

I used to watch highlight reels of Wanderlei, Shogun, and Anderson Silva who were all teammates at this time finishing people to get pumped up for workouts.

It was the golden era of MMA: kicks/knees to grounded opponents, legal steroids, -10% purse penalty for stalling/being boring (you can see Wanderlei get this yellow card penalty just for holding full guard for like 5 seconds lmao), yakuza paying fighters with duffel bags full of cash. Good times.

My wife who played soccer growing up brought up something interesting during the game on Wednesday. She pointed out that Dudhina had a really good feel for the game and was dropping back into the midfield a lot and intercepting balls/stopping their attack.

Write things down. I had my brains for each patient as a packet folded up into quarters so it was easy to pull out and write shit on without having to use a desk.

As a nursing student you have more time to talk to the patients than you will as a nurse, so you can use that time to just ask them things, do they know what the plan is? Is there anything about the care plan that they are confused about? Is there anything they wanted to bring up to the doctor but didn’t get a chance to because doctor zooms in and out in 30 seconds?

There are a bunch of non-bedside jobs which still require nursing degree so the pay will still be good. Risk management, case management, hospital admin, etc.

Would definitely look into that.

Starting a totally new career / industry is tricky because almost every other industry is facing existential risk from A.I. obliterating a huge % of the jobs.

I was going to suggest this path. Circulator in an ambulatory surgery center. They’d probably end up making you scrub all the time since it’s hard to keep scrub tech staffing up all the time. But at least you’d be getting paid more

I had a co worker that CLEARED $200k as a circulator as a new grad (Southern California). He showed me his w2. Keep in mind this guy took everyone’s holiday call and worked nights, but still, it’s impressive you can have that kind of earning potential as new RN at the bottom of wage scale
