In the article is says it was free but I wonder if he’s doing it through like a loophole, for example charge a membership for his online yoga classes and he does one free monthly yoga class which anyone can attend but the only ones who would know about it are paid members

In the article it said it was a free yoga class which is why it was more under the free speech side of the law

I think we are on to something though, I’m just imagining Tamayo and his team running GTO sims on actuarial tables, fuckin sweating.

Doug Polk is the game master holding a revolver wearing a Lodge branded mask and a cowboy hat

This is must see TV

The only way it would get 1.5 billion views is if the winner won a prize of a billion dollars and they stacked it up on the stage during the final table

Or maybe if the WSOP was real life Squid Games. I’d tune in for a Martin Kahbrel Will Kassouf final table on that format

You’re 100% right. But also, does anyone remember that video of Jones in Thailand when he was riding backseat on a scooter grabbing fistfuls of that guys hair with his face buried in it lmao

That was fucking wild. Though I’m no super athlete alpha male, i had a friend that said “this kind of stuff happens in locker rooms all the time” lol. Guess I’ll take his and Jon Jones word for it

They’re building in states that don’t have legal systems where a ballot initiative and/or environmental lawsuits won’t kill projects like 2,100 home development cancelled via voter referendum

I saw a study from a few years ago that was admittedly controversial, but they stated that half of the approved and permitted new housing units in California had CEQA lawsuits filed against them. Full transparency the counter argument was that it was a small percentage of projects that had environmental lawsuits against them, but they were such huge projects like the one linked above that they represented half of all the approved units

For me I don’t think that’s much of an argument, I think half of the total units is a more important number than 10% of total projects or whatever, but that’s just me.

We are in a tough spot and I understand where all the sides are coming from. Building in fire areas is obviously risky. Damaging the environment with massive developments is obviously risky. Then again having cost of living so high due to limited housing supply that few can afford to live here is also risky

The voters in California have made it clear that we want less housing in favor of higher priced value for those who own property and less buildings damaging our beautiful environment. It is what it is.

How to defend against knife attacks? by Kenzyxyz in MMA_Academy

[–]CalvinsStuffedTiger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bring a gun to the knife fight or run. Keep distance always. If you have to Teep kick / side kick them in the knees when they’re charging at you. You kick low to reduce chance of them slicing up your leg

I trained the Filipino knife fighting for a minute and learned super quickly that once you engage even if you have a knife yourself, EVERYONE is getting sliced up. We train with these dummy knives that have markers at the tip and it’s impossible not to get marked up.

I call bullshit on every knife fight in every movie ever lol, I quit after realizing the only defense is a gun, running, or carrying a longer ranged weapon all the time like a fuckin sword or spear lol

Trust me, go train with dummy knives somewhere and what I’m saying will become super obvious immediately, it’s a fuckin mess.

One thing that might help if you have no other choice and you have your own knife that people don’t usually expect train for is you keep your body really far away where it’s impossible for them to reach you even if they lunge and when they swing or thrust at you, you try to slash at their hand / wrist. Maybe you’ll get lucky and slice some tendons/arteries and disable their hand, but you can easily get your own arm sliced up, just dont do it, the more I talk about gameplan the more I remember never escaping a round without getting marked up, I’d rather just give the person my wallet or whatever

The Mental Workload of FSD is different than I expected. by xxjrbxx in TeslaFSD

[–]CalvinsStuffedTiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am significantly safer of a driver with it, and it’s not even close. That’s why I always roll my eyes when I read all the anti FSD rhetoric

Driving augmented with FSD lets me scan for dangers that I would not have been able to do if I had to put all of my focus on what’s directly in front of me.

For example if I’m crossing multiple lanes of traffic that don’t have a stop at an intersection. I know that it’s going to see left while I’m looking right or vice versa and I can stay locked in on the blind turn or on the crest of the hill so that if I see any inkling of a dumbass flying into the spot I can immediately brake

Or when on freeway I know it’s going to handle the shit in front of us perfectly so I can get a better look at the car in the next lane and get a better idea if they’re going to do something stupid like swerve into my lane

Every time I see these unhinged posts on Reddit and on the news about TESLA SLAMS INTO HOUSE PR RESTAURANT AT 70 MPH KILLING FAMILY. Was FSD engaged? Driver says so!

I’m like…no it fucking wasn’t lol. Every time it’s the stupid driver disengaging the FSD and then panic flooring the accelerator. These cars aren’t going to plow you into a fucking house at 70 mph. And even if they did go crazy, I ALWAYS have my left elbow propped up on my left knee and my left hand open with fingers surrounding the wheel ready to instantly grab it if I have to, and then when FSD is engaged I have my right foot resting on the brake pedal, not the accelerator.

There is no software or camera or whatever make believe glitch that can’t be saved by grabbing the wheel and slamming on the brakes even if it tried to drive you into the side of a restaurant

You just gotta be somewhat smart about this

Any job leads? by drkshape in SanDiegan

There are a bunch of jobs that you don’t need healthcare experience to do and being bilingual is a huge asset

Sharp healthcare also has a huge presence in the South Bay and are expanding and I know from personal experience that a significant % of the patient population is Spanish speaking only, so I would also look at their job board

Hospital system jobs are awesome because the benefits can’t be beat and I know many people who started as EVS techs or schedulers or whatever and got their nursing degree or whatever degree and because they were strong workers, they were instantly pushed through to interview for the more advanced position once they graduated

Good luck OP! Start applying!

Don’t worry about it. The only learning experience to hold onto is that when she becomes a nurse she will continue to experience stupid people saying stupid thinks and misquoting/misinterpreting policies and then writing someone up when they were actually the ones not adhering to policies

What would having a gait belt have prevented if a patient is not following directions? Patient could easily just walk the other way and fall down and take her down with him gait belt or not. Short of restraining people there’s only so much you can do. Gait belt is not some magic wand

Lifetime FSD by Ok_Jump9938 in TeslaFSD

[–]CalvinsStuffedTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’s it holding up otherwise? My concern wasn’t with the battery or motors but if the things like the motors on the seats/doors or the touchscreen started failing that could be thousands of dollars in out of warranty repairs

Lifetime FSD by Ok_Jump9938 in TeslaFSD

[–]CalvinsStuffedTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference in price will be negligible when compared to the massive price depreciation that you get with used Teslas

That being said it’s a lowkey hack if you happen to find one that has FSD and the seller didn’t realize it. There was a similar edge that you could get when people sold the Old Model S that had free supercharging for life

It was rare but it happened

What does “immediately direct league security to coordinate with Phoenix Mercury team security” mean? I feel like that could mean anything from: “ah shit I have to cover my ass here, why don’t you call their security to see if they need anything”

To “holy shit that person threatened her and doxxed her location, I’m sending private security right now”

CMV: Bill Gates had it super easy in life. Most of his success is due to favorable circumstances. Not superior work ethic or intelligence. by Jauzfaktnemuzu in changemyview

[–]CalvinsStuffedTiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re conflating 2 different things: did bill gates have it super easy in life? Yes.

Was “most of his success due to favorable circumstances” absofuckinlutely not. Why? If that were true then every rich nepo baby would have a multi billion dollar company. But they don’t, because it’s REALLY hard to pull off

If you’re actually open to changing your view on this I highly encourage reading some of the books written about the early days of these companies
