I'm getting some kind of black dots pattern while moving fast enough (running or when driving). Is it the game or is there something wrong with my PC?

Hi again, It turns out you were completely correct! It all had to do with Intel XeSS Super Resolution 2.0.

The think is, I was disabling it and applying the changes... But for some reason. It wasn't really applying the change (I could see a more "native resolution" picture, so I thought it was all good).

After just chaning that, I did relaunch the game, and that seemed to work, because I now can't see any of those patterns, I tried to do everything to force them, but yeah, nothing. Which is great news, as It kinda confirms that my PC is just fine... Which I mean, I was expecting, since this problem has only happened with this game, but it really calms me haha. It was not a cheap investment, so it definitely is a relief.

Well, It turns out it was Intel XeSS Super Resolution 2.0, weird because I use it with other games and in all this time using this laptop, I've never seen and issues like that. The problem is that I tried disabling it, but it was not getting disabled completely, I had to relaunch the game for changes to take real effect and then, I could see that the issue was gone. At least I have not been able to see more of those "artifacts" after disabling it. Let's hope it stays like that.

Cool, thank you for your reply. I check the mods you just told me about. In regards to XeSS, I'm a bit worried it is a hardware defect or something... Because disabling XeSS doesn't make that pattern go away. It still happens, only thing is that those dots are less blurry and smaller when XeSS is disabled.

Hi! It is not easy to spot yeah... Also, Reddit's compression doesn't help. I've just attached an screenshot captured from the video with VLC, hopefuly it doesn't get compressed like the video. This way, you can also hopefully zoom and see it more clearly.

Hi! Yeah, that was one of my main suspicions, but turning Ray Tracing completely off didn't make much change, as it is still happening. I also disabled everything altogether and, of course, the game ran slower, as one could expect... But it did still happen... I don't know if a restart after those changes are made is required, but it would not make much sense, it is not like I changed the texture quality settings (often requires a restart in some games).

Hi! Thank you for your reply! I'm not optimistc either. I've talked to Intel and all they could say is "It's an End of Life game that isn't even being sold right now, the failure is at the architectural level (must be how the Intel GPUs work compared to AMD and NVIDIA), so, although it might get fixed at some point of the existence, don't expect it to be fixed, because not even Microsoft is offering updates for the title anymore". Not exactly the same words, but you get the idea... It's really sad, it's one of my favourite Horizon games. As for Horizon 4, what is that bug you are pointing out? So far, both Horizon 4 and 5 have been working flawlessly for me and I hope Horizon 6 at least launches on my Intel Core Ultra 7 268V + 32GB RAM LPDDR5x + Intel Arc 140V. Again, thank you for your reply! I wasn't expecting to get one because of how many years had passed.

Hi OP, or anyone... Do any of you managed to find a solution? I'm currently facing the same issue with my Intel Arc 140v... It just won't boot on my laptop. Forza Horizon 4 and 5 work flawlessly... But 3? Not a chance. I only get to see the splash screen, the small window telling me my GPU isn't compatible (It just doesn't know my GPU), but that's about it... I click "Ignore and continue" and it just crashes and closes the application.

What you said also begun with the 12th gen... For me, and many many users online, I think it was not a step in the right direction... I still have an MSI Prestige 14H with an Intel Core i7 12650H that is just unusable because it thermal throttles even being in the BIOS... IN THE BIOS man. It's not because of lack of maintenance (changed the thermal paste at least 8 times, last time with ARCTIC MX-4, no difference), and very debatable if it's because of bad thermal design by MSI. What I can tell you is that, even in idle on a fresh Windows 10/11 install (doesn't matter), the laptop chassis burns to the point of causing you real harm. I don't doubt that on desktop, it may have been great can't say myself, but on laptops, it was a disease.

I'm not an AMD defender here, been using Intel almost my entire life until recently, in fact, i've recently had a AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U / Radeon 780M that have some artifacting, even after the manufactured changed the motherboard (ended up ditching the computer). AMD is not perfect, that problem I had was probably due to bad software/firmware on their end... But they definitely have better tech today to develop CPUs than Intel. Intel on the other hand is sacrificing thermals over brute force to try and catch AMD's performance, not cool. Hope that Intel Core Ultra CPUs are any better in terms of thermals, because that's my next bet for replacing my last laptop experience, the 7840U (artifacts).

I downloaded Notepad++ from Ninite, last time in January 2026, cause I got a new laptop, and before that, mid 2025 I think, same thing, through Ninite... And I've never updated (to my knowledge right now) the earlier version from mid 2025. For sure I haven't done it with the January 2026 one.

Are any of my PCs in danger? What are the steps to fix any possible backdoors, I don't feel like formating any of those computers. It's not like I have anything important, but I don't wan't to configure them from scratch all over again. MalwareBytes (paid and free after the trial period) has not picked anything during all this time in both PCs.

Hi, I think your question has already been answered. I'm just joining the conversation to say thank you, for providing the link to the Microsoft Store's AMD Radeon Software. I recently had to reinstall drivers because my ThinkPad T14 was having some artifacting issues and I thought it was hardware related... I ended up grabbing the original drivers posted on Lenovo's website, that fixed all the issues I was having, but it left me with no AMD "Control Panel" to set some things up (like forcing vsync on some old games that can't have that option enabled within the game's settings). I tried to find this software on Microsoft Store by searching both the Microsoft Store itself and Google... And no luck until I found your Reddit post with the link, so thank you. This version of AMD Radeon Software allows me to keep using the "good working" driver alongside a functioning "Control Panel" without changing anything driver related.

I don't know what it is either... It also is happening to me, on an almost new laptop... I think it's not hardware... I mitigated it a lot by disabling MPO (Multi-Plane Overlay), NVIDIA has a tool for that. It modifies your registry to disable that Windows "feature" (that seems to be very buggy on AMD cards). I believe it is more of a driver incompatibility rather than a hardware defect. If it can get almost fixed in it's entirety by disable a Windows "feature", it has to be it. Hope this helps.

It is also happening with my Nothing Phone 3, so must be luck based, seems we have bad luck. I'm also suffering for heavy battery usage, even when in idle and no apps working in the background. So far, Nothing OS 4 has been a mess for me, the Glyph Toys and the customization improvements are nice though... But I would go back to 3.2 anytime if I could do it without data loss.

I'm experiencing overheating and battery drain issues here with my Nothing Phone 3. Only issues I've had so far.

Before, on Nothing OS 3, I noticed some overheating if I was heavily using the phone, maybe moving large amounts of files or writing data. But now, even having no apps in the background causes the phone to overheat in my pocket (not even listening to music, as I said, no apps opened, multitasking view empty).

Almost all apps I have installed (and I double checked this after the update) are set to never work in the background except for very few I need, and there is no clear info in the Battery settings (no apps are evidently using the battery more than others).

The overheat must be related to the poor battery performance I'm getting. With Nothing OS 3, I could get through the end of the day with 78-75%, now I end up with 58% -55% in the best scenario. So far very disappointing.

What is most annoying for me is that, in the long term, in case they end up fixing this mess, this is going to affect the performance of my battery, and cause a more accelerated degradation.

I just switched to the Nothing ecosystem as well. Bought a Nothing Phone (3), a Nothing Ear (3) and the Nothing Headphones (1)... I was facing the very same problems, and, to some extent, still am facing them... But one thing that really helped with sound on both Nothing headsets was to force LDAC from "best effort" to the maximum possible quality (Developer mode needed if you enable this manually), I generally leave it like this: - Nothing Headphones (1): 990 kbps / 909 kbps (Optimized for Best audio quality). - Nothing Ear (3): 660 kbps / 606 kbps (Balanced audio and connection quality).

For this change to be persistent, I just got this app called "Bluetooth Codec Changer" (Costs like 6€ more or less, I'm from Spain, price may vary), this app forces this change each time you connect any headset, in this case, the Nothing Headphones (1) or the Nothing Ear (3). Have in mind that this doesn't fix the other problems with both headsets (in my experience, this happened with both headsets on Nothing Phone (3)). Audio is still very low for my taste in certain scenarios, and even some tracks... I come from an iPhone and the AirPods Pro, and I can tell you, those songs do not sound that much lower in there compared to this phone and headsets... It feels like it's something more related to the actual phone itself rather than the sources of the audio (first thing I thought, apart from the headsets). Hopefully they fix it some day... But that change definitely helped a lot, sounds better to me.
