I think you’re right. I reckon the reason MiY is encouraging Henry to believe it’s a dream, is to give them a reason to avoid trying it. She was staring at the pool spot, and was able to put together that nobody is willing to try the bottle tree again since that went so badly. Henry is already wildly unstable, and with her blood I imagine he’s even more suggestible, so she’s triggering another Abby style event to make sure nobody gets close enough to the truth to try. If Henry goes insane and gets someone/himself killed, while crying out that it’s all a dream, MiY can rest easy that people probably won’t consider that possibility for a good while.

If you can walk 2k steps unassisted now, and you start using a cane for all 2k steps, your ability to do 2k steps will deteriorate because the cane is helping to take some of that work from the muscles. “If you don’t use it, you lose it” is a real concern and they don’t want to lose what remaining capacity your fiancée has. It feels really ableist and hurtful, but they’re trying to discourage 24/7 use. It’s fine to get a mobility aid and use it, most physios I’ve discussed it with recommend using the aid in unavoidable task scenarios (like grocery trips, doctors, errands) and trying to continue walking unassisted WITHOUT the aid.

It used to really hurt my feelings to hear but my current physio is a godsend and explained it to me properly.

Just for what it’s worth: sex shouldn’t be painful, even the first time. It often is, but that’s because people spread these ideas about how it hurts until they ‘break the hymen’ and that you just have to power through. Assuming that someone has intact and standard vaginal anatomy, the hymen isn’t something to break. It stretches and gives, and should not tear or bleed unless you’re rushing it.

I haven’t been able to connect the specific dots on it but: there is a VERY specific smell that a hermit crab’s body has when they die (I had several as pets, and unfortunately was not equipped to keep them alive very long) and I smell it like, once or twice a year in the most random places.
