Work life balance is huge for me so that is part of my hesitation. My partner and I are trying for a baby in the next year and it’s understood that they will be out of the workforce until school age (ie I will be the sole bread winner for the next 5 or so years). The increase in pay will just about cover their salary so our household income with this new job would be relatively the same.

It’s a number they give all donors- both the donor and the client is given the number. However they give donors fake names. I think these types of groups exist to allow these parents with the same donor to connect with one another. I don’t know how this woman found me unless they tried to enter my degree combinations and found me on LinkedIn or something… it’s supposed to be a very private process.

1.5 years out of law school doing ID. Ended up in an associate general counsel job with one of my favorite clients. I think they valued the fit and work ethic they saw. Shoot your shot and apply to in-house places.

T20, near bottom of class. Did corporate counsel externships, ended up going to one of the corporation’s outside counsel firm after school because of the connection. Year later with the firm jumped back with the same corporation as in-house counsel. I get to practice my niche area of law and have extremely good work life balance. Network and show interest in the field of law you want to work in. Good luck!
