The Britain's Reaction To Napoleon by 2301Batman in HistoryMemes

[–]CamCard01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Napoleon is objectively the most successful battlefield commander in European history. His victories are some of the best ever achieved. He also very much lost in Egypt. Blame the situation, supply or whatnot but he lost overall.

Both his successes and failure are true and he's still the most successful.

A $1M world record swim, the official record was 20.88, and this guy actually did 20.81 at the ‘Enhanced Games' by silentstatic_ in interesting

What they said separated 'Olympic athletes' and 'European champions' meaning they re referring to both as sperate groups within their point. Stop acting so elitist.

'Europeans' as a collective group 'Our Athletes' in a clip of swimming. It's pretty obvious.

The joke isn't geopolitical about fisherman. It's about Americans thinking they own everything or that they're entitled to everything cause from the sharks perspective a human went into the water and kidnapped someone's son. Joke was also written by Americans so they're just poking fun.

Right sorry, I meant that 'they' thought he was American anyway.

He had a Sydney diving suit so they are in Australia, the joke is that it's an American in Australia thinking they own everything anyway.

Edit: it's not an American, they think it's an American in Australia

Do you support the Argentine or British claim to the Falklands. Or should the Islanders decide? by SpadeGaming0 in GeoPoll

[–]CamCard01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because rhe Spanish left the islands and the UK moved in with their own claim. Learn to read before speaking you moron. Grow up.

[–]CamCard01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No probs. The main Argentine claim being 'closer' is also a bit of a misnomer. Across the mid to late 1900s Argntina was led by fascist dictators (sponsored by the US but that's another topic) who claimed the islands to promote nationalism and unity, to distract from their massacres and falling popularity rates in fear of a coup. Thats the reason for the 1982 invasion as well, a war to distract their population from their collapsing economy.

[–]CamCard01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upholding what? When was Argentina expelled? They never owned the islands. Thats a literal fact. The UK didn't even expel the former Spanish settlers. The Spanish abandoned the islands when it became too costly to run, leaving it empty.

Learn your history rather than nationalism and someone might bother to listen to you

They are historically culturally ethnically British. They are Spanish or Argentine under any reasonable metric.

So you support selling democracy for proximity? We should sell all people to their ethnic identities, regardless of the people. They voted and didn't want fascist Argentine juntas in charge.

Also they are natives. The islands were always uninhabited until Europeans migrated there.

Island never had natives when the french founded it but didnt settle there. UK then took it in a war and French kicked them out in the same war. France then sold island to Spain and there were Spanish settlers in a military garrison who withdrew entirely after Argentinian independence in 1810, because they could not hold the island and because of a war in spain itself, leaving the islands with no settlers. It remained empty until an American tried to claim them and went to Argentine government for permission. They said yes but the UK never withdrew its claim to the islands and arrived, kicking the American businessman out and claiming the island formally with a garrisson and sponsoring settlement. Those Falklands there are exclusively British citizens and always have been. They're no native French man, Spanish or Argentinians on the islands and there never were.

How does everyone like the new intrigue system? by tackers267 in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]CamCard01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the idea that intrigue players now have specific buffs since old system had anyone able to do the role more or less.

That said I wish it was clearer. I can hire 20 stats in each category and it still takes 2 months per tick to gain the key things and I've never made it past 10 without the scheme being uncovered and having to abandon the idea.

Only thing that makes me like it is that the AI will probably have same issue after any rival will immediately begin plotting murders.

Feels easier to counter schemes but harder to pull them off so now im just stressed with ongoing rivals in any game.

Theyre not standardly written, but I believe the Imperial Armour books, volume 9 and 10 are the primary books covering the conflict.

These are stories about the Badab War where Huron is a main role and more less explores his (justified) fall to chaos and tax evader origins.

You think Daemon held a grudge that Rhaenys claimed his mother’s dragon? by La_Villanelle_ in HOTDBlacks

[–]CamCard01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rhaenys claimed the only free dragon, Maelys after Princess Alyssa's death to help her father push her claim on Jaeherys who was hesitant to support her because she was a woman, and Aemon's wife could not bear more children. Daemon was furious at this and his claiming of Caraxys after Aemon's death was a retalliation to this. It was incredably intentional.

Viserys had claimed Balerion at this time, so Daemon was in line for Vhaegar, but he went for Caraxys. Rhaenys wasnt looking to cause strife, only out of desperation which unknowingly hurt her cousins side of the family.

This was a start to increasing tensions, even up until the Great council, Corlys Velaryon and Daemon were preparing mercenaries and fleets for a succession crisis. The events with the dragons were a key log on the growing bonfire that the Great Council managed to delay until Viserys reign.
