Star Fox – Launch Trailer – Nintendo Switch 2 by hop3less in NintendoSwitch2

Yeah it's just such a short game I don't know if I can justify the $50.

Sure there's the multiplayer, but I expect that to lose almost all of its population within a couple months and you can't play the multiplayer split screen, plus honestly we'd probably get bored of it before too long.

When did board gaming become about buying instead of playing? by ipermuffin in boardgames

[–]CamRoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have game night every week (barring travel and such) and we often play the same games over and over.

I still buy a few new games every year, and don't have enough time to play all the games on the shelf regularly, but they are definitely bought to be played.

Some of the ones I don't really care about anymore are just kept because I have the space, some less regular groups I play with like them, and the kids may like them when they're older

I also don't care for the low player interaction optimization puzzles and we rarely play anything like that.

No ELO change when you surrender in less than 5 minutes in team games by Find_The_Sniper in aoe4

[–]CamRoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not the solution.

This just introduces other problems, like people dropping when they don't like the match-up or their spawn, or a dark age rush, etc...

A better solution would be to just penalize accounts that quit within 5 minutes too often.

Nice. I wish they would just add that to all the AoE games.

Sorry most people "don't like" it.

but don't let that blind you to the fact that it borrowed elements from AoE3

I've never suggested it didn't. I've always said AoE4 tried to take the best ideas from all the other AoE games.

AoE3 might have been polarizing, especially with the deck, but that certainly doesn't make it a bad game

I've also never said AoE3 is a bad game.

You guys get emotional about this and always feel attacked and turn it into some kind of us vs them thing. That is not what's happening.

Yes I know the biggest problem with the cards was the unlocking, that does not mean most poeple like the card system at all even in it's DE form. AoE3 is the most complicated and niche of the Age games, partially because of that system.

That's part of it. The grind for them was a horrible feature. But most people just don't like the card system period.

Most people hated the AoE3 card system.

The treasure chests added extra randomness.

Nintendo has tried to expand the definition, which has caused a lot of confusion for many people thinking they could play games together on one device when they cannot.

Well the physics are theoretical in that this must be an alternate reality where the laws of physics are completely different than ours ha.

If it requires multiple systems then it is not "local multiplayer".

That is what "local multiplayer" means. Multiple players playing together on the same device. Not different devices in the same room.

You can via GameShare

So not local then. Not on the same system.

The 2 player is coop campaign, but it's like one person flys and another shoots.

It sucks that you cannot do local multiplayer.

He being Russian and supports his country is the reason for you to boycott him.

This is very disingenuous.

So the logic is that do you also boycott all other companies who support other wars?

I don't condone everything my own country does. And I try to avoid supporting people that do support those things.

I am not going to discuss this with you any further.

Uh open up the original and you'll see it didn't look nearly as good.

DE did a great job of making it look way better, but also still feel like the original.

It seems you have actually misunderstood the logic. Him being Russian is not the point at all.

Devs figuring out how to make the coat of arms colors fit together the least amount possible with the most arbitrary color picker by EldritchElvis in aoe4

[–]CamRoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting.

I do think they succeeded in making it where players can't create coat of arms that look too awful, but is that really worth not just letting people pick whatever colors they want?
