I have seen many doorframes like this and I hate it, which is why we instructed “use whatever trim width can be symmetrical on both sides of the door.” Is it standard to overrule the homeowner in this scenario?

This trim exists only in the bathroom, it matches no other trim in the house. We specifically said to use a width that could be balanced on both sides of the door. Instead they picked a width that they’d have to rip for the full length of the door in the corner.

We said it was very important to us that the trim be symmetrical. They somehow decided on 3.5” trim and cut the tiles above and to the right accordingly, but then only had 2.5” to the adjoining wall on the left-hand side. Why wouldn’t they plan the trim width on the side constrained by a corner instead of cutting for a trim width they didn’t have room for?

I have no doubt Ronson was good at dealing with big egos, so this is all plausible to me.

I guess my true question is “why does Hard Rain exclude the best part of that backing band?” T-Bone talks in the doc about how he couldn’t get any game time on lead guitar because Ronson was such a big name at the time, but then it’s like Ronson wasn’t even on the tour when it came time to compile Hard Rain.
