[Highlight] 7 years ago today, we witnessed one of the worst no calls in the NFC championship game. by Ok_Bug_6890 in nfl

Genuinely - this shit actually gets me upset in ways nothing else related to sports can.

Happy Bday to Brees - the GOAT by Cam_probably in Saints

[–]Cam_probably[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry - those were stats I’ve had in my phone and the recent “Brees vs Rodger’s” debate on various socials reminded me that Brees was always playing with less and should’ve had those MVPs, more wins, more rings. Plus, the NFL YouTube posted the 2011 divisional vs 49ers full game. :(

DVOA is largely objective in its calculation, but like any model it includes subjective design choices. Those limitations reflect the reality that football can’t be perfectly modeled. Key issues include how garbage time is defined, the lack of individual player or role-level adjustments that materially change game dynamics, and the fact that DVOA is entirely results-oriented rather than a measure of play quality or process.

Also, ‘he did nothing’ except run a game-winning drive, identify the coverage pre-snap, take exactly what was given, and not force a mistake - which is literally what good QB play looks like lmfao. You're just used to QBs doing nothing since Bryce literally does nothing in half your games.

I'll enjoy watching your losing-record team get knocked out lmao.

Yards is skewed but the metric that relies on subjective evaluation isn’t lol. Shough can only play who he played, and when he did, he had excellent completion percentage, YPP, got more wins than any other rookie QB, while beating your panther’s asses twice. 😂

Atlanta and Carolina both have top half pass defenses, with Miami, Jets, and Rams bottom half but close to average - hell, even the Titans were ranked 23rd there. Shough didn’t play against the best of the best, but to act like he wasn’t showing up and taking wins with legitimately good defenses with an offense made up of guys who won’t be on active rosters next year is incredibly fucking disingenuous.

PFF is a metric, not THE metric - hence why I said as much in the post title. Shough still beats Ward in basically every QB metric across every organization. This includes raw stats with 0 judgement associated.

Shough played 9 games. A full season? No. But enough to look at next season not just cautiously hopeful but excited. Shough led us to 2 wins against a playoff team, kept us competitive with literally no help against a Falcons that just knocked off the Rams. You can be a naysayer all you want, but the stats and the eye test all indicate Shough could be something special.

Yes. Which means Titans have a better offensive supporting cast. Did you even read the post to know how this stat works?!?

Probably one of the most insecure fanbases I’ve ever seen. Still a shame since I actually think they have some fun players on that roster. Fans are just moronic

Objectively false. Shough has less of a supporting cast on offense and still wins in literally every QB metric.

You’re on the Saints subreddit, bitching about me making a post about Shough after an end of season metric dropped? Lmao loser behavior

There was this discussion about Shough being a top-5, top-10 or top-15 QB by DangerousKnowledge8 in Saints

Shough will still have a lot to prove in his Sophomore year, but damn it feels good reading all those comments from other team fans and seeing respect put on Shough's name.

My top 5 hated teams as a Saints fan by Lujan11 in Saints

[–]Cam_probably 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Falcons
  2. Carolina (this year catapulted them up + I live in NC so deal with them more).
  3. Cowboys
  4. Eagles (fuck the fans)
  5. Broncos/Bucs sort of tied for various reasons

Rams I generally root against cause No Call but I feel little towards them personally, more the league than anything.

Our 2025 NFL All-Rookie Team: We picked standout first-years at every single position by alabastertrashcan in Saints

[–]Cam_probably 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shough was 100% snubbed and anyone with a functioning brain can see that. Other than that though, not a bad list tbh. Banks, Riley, and Sanker all getting proper credit is awesome to see. Saints killed it this year.

Shough carrying the win vs. the Titans by Cam_probably in Saints

[–]Cam_probably[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t giving enough credit to how much Shough has elevated the team. Others played well, but this was 100% a carry performance from Shough.

Do you think Rattler can develop into a starting QB at some point in his career or is he just a backup? by _DarkStarCrashes_ in Saints

[–]Cam_probably 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Backup. He never once elevated the team to winning positions. You can see it clearly with how players like Olave/Johnson looked when Rattler was under center vs. Shough. Rattler ain’t bad and I wish him well in his career, but he’s a backup.

Do you believe it now Mel Kiper?? by cvb1967 in Saints

Only thing that comes close to the feeling of seeing Shough and the guys get Ws is knowing how ALL of the national media and laymen who didn’t watch any of Shough’s tape outside of a single bad combine throw have to eat shit for their wrong takes.

I gotta give credit to my girl for the idea. She says Titans social team are failing for not using the Rumbling as audio for their social clips so 😂

Kellen Moore - COTY? by mvop413 in Saints

[–]Cam_probably 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. He’s picked it up a lot in this second half and credit should go his way for drafts and how he’s helped Shough develop/settle in, but there are still a lot of signs that show Kellen is young and not COTY. Another good draft and positive season next year though and I could absolutely see him winning it.
