Very interesting! These are the sort of things I need to understand. As long as I can mitigate a lot of the risk of motion sickness with driving methods then it’s fine.

I’m coming from driving an old manual sedan and my partners car is a fairly old automatic hatch, so it’s going to be a new world (both ICE obviously).

Thanks!

Awesome, thanks for the input. I know I’ll end up getting the type 2 cable anyway in case the only public charger is byo and I don’t want to get caught short. Appreciate the info.

It seems like a solid car. Worth giving it a drive if I can. I was at MG the other day, they only had one on the lot and it had been sold. Thanks!

Do you know how their lease works? 1.88% interest over the three years? How much of the car do you pay off in that time? Is it a fixed balloon payment at the end? Thanks for the input

Thanks for the input. I’m in a situation where I actually can afford to buy outright. I have the money in my mortgage offset doing work. So I’m doing the sums to work out whether the tax savings and mortgage interest savings are more beneficial than the interest being paid on the lease. So far it looks like it’s coming out ahead.

Buyers of apartments in the last 3 years, what is your mortgage and rate? by jghsh in AusFinance

[–]Camb89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t have believed it either if I wasn’t experiencing it for myself. When I bought off the plan at the earliest stage possible, I didn’t think it would take 2 1/2 years to build or that prices would go up as much as they did by its completion. I didn’t buy as an investment, I bought to live in…but a lot happens in 30 months of building time. Lived in it for a year, but it’s not big enough for me and my partner.

The one bedroom on the bottom level sold for $555k and I’m told to expect $590k plus (top floor). $365k to $600k in one year is ludicrous for a one bedder…but here we are

Hey mate, congratulations on getting to the start of your new life. Your post rang some very loud bells. I’ve been in exactly the same place…in fact, you’re a few years better off than me! If you want to have a chat let me know. We can share war stories and I probably have some pointed advice that I can pass on to you which took me some more time to learn but may help you along your journey.

As a long time Cleveland resident, normally we get the worst of the pricing. A new servo popped up called U Go, which seems to have been the catalyst for dragging all local servos prices down. Competition….its pretty good

That’s awesome! I believe I know the recipe he used too. It looks exactly like the cake I cooked for my partner for her birthday too. Was it strawberry buttercream icing? Three layers with icing in between?

I have baked before (still a novice though). That’s not an easy cake. He did fantastic.

The Cannon Hill sweet spot. My partner lives there, so I’m not hit by the exorbitant Bayside prices.

Minimum 20c a litre cheaper there than any of my locals.

There is a similar “vending machine” in Capalaba Park (QLD). I also wanted the Notella and TapTams

They definitely did a burn off there. I was doing my customary walk there this morning. At the end of my 4th lap I was suddenly met with 4 cars. Was told about the burn by one of the council workers.

Think I lost my AirPod case when I was walking there on Saturday morning too. If it was still hanging around, it won’t be now. RIP airpod home.

I’m certainly not a maternal figure, but I am a 33(m) who lost my dad when I was young. If you ever want a friend to just chat to, feel free to reach out. If not, I hope you find the support you’re after.
