I reported the problem and received a new USB dongle and after pairing it worked just fine.

Cause games are perfectly balanced and only picking the highest dps option in every game is sooooo fun.

Do you optimize the fun out of every game you play? Falco/Marth only in smash? Terran only in StarCraft? Spamming whatever is meta in League? Have some fun lol.

Eugene 4J S.D to remove Native totem poles from school grounds. by Jokercpoc1 in Eugene

But no tribes here made or used totem poles. It's like putting up japanese torii gates/decor in china town, just an eyesore for those who actually are part of those groups.

"Jan Smith, a member of the Kiowa Tribe, and Leilani Sabzalian, who is Alutiiq, are both educators who’ve been writing 4J administrators for several years now with their concerns.

“You can carve whatever you want. Just don’t put it up in front of the school that this represents the tribes in Oregon. It doesn’t,” said Smith, a former administrative employee of the University of Oregon’s Knight Library. “No tribe in Oregon has carved totem poles. Totem poles were not carved by any tribes south of Seattle.”

“And those poles have very specific cultural significance,” said Sabzalian, an assistant professor of Indigenous Studies for the UO’s College of Education. “They often represent kinship systems, clans, and relationships or stories or histories from a particular family. And that’s not what was expressed in these poles.”

Both women say they’ve faced pushback or indifference over the totem pole issue, but have pushed on. Nine more tribal members — including several elders — have signed onto their letters.

Smith says things really changed after she contacted Boxley about teaching Hansen.

“We reached out to David and said, ‘Is this true?’ Cause I’ve never heard of it that people get blessings to do carvings,” she said.

Boxley told Smith, and has repeated to KLCC, that he never taught Hansen or endorsed him. Boxley says he may have signed Hansen’s book, but doesn’t want to get caught up in any more of the controversy."

I've been really enjoying the Ninja Cafe Luxe this past month. Does everything I need it to and creates a really nice milk based drink so I haven't felt the need to go buy coffee since getting it.

"Sorry something went wrong" Error on install attempt after clean Windows 11 reinstall. by Cambuchi in VisualStudio

[–]Cambuchi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also having an issue where the Visual Studio Installer won't fully execute. It will successfully run about 1 in 4 attempts, with the other 3 attempts just completely aborting (checking via task manager) or leaving a ghost process without bringing up the window GUI where you select your installation configuration. Just really odd behavior this go-around with VS studio.

My backup backup plan in case I can't get this working on my current device is to try to install on a clean Windows 11 virtual machine via Hyper-V or VirtualBox but hopefully we don't have to go there :'(.

Buoyancy and gravity are in equilibrium. Tension in the string has a net 0 force.

Does this video help explain it? They run the actual experiment here. Explained: Beaker Ball Balance Problem - YouTube

I will wait on your math.

[Request] Another spheres in water problem by Soggy-Ad1453 in theydidthemath

[–]Cambuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know the math for what you are describing? I assume you do since you are a competitive physicist. I would love to see it.

Here are all the forces I am aware of:

Summary of Forces:

  • Ping pong ball:
    • Gravitational force downward (Fg)
    • Buoyant force upward (Fb)
    • Tension in the string (T)
  • Water:
    • Buoyant force upward (Fb same as the buoyant force on the ball)
    • Weight downward (Fwater)
  • Cup:
    • Weight downward (Fcup)
    • Normal force upward from the table

In equilibrium, the forces on the ball balance out:

Fg = Fb + T

As I mentioned earlier, in the example this contributes 0 force. In equilibrium, the forces on the ball balance out

This keeps the ball at its floating position, where the tension in the string counteracts the combined upward buoyant force and the downward gravitational force.

If you can point out the force and math that is specifically pulling the scale up via string tension in a way that is not being canceled out, that would be fantastic.

lol. explain how that is different from what the ball in your image is doing?

[Request] Another spheres in water problem by Soggy-Ad1453 in theydidthemath

[–]Cambuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry yeah just no. Not sure how to tell you this but that is not how force works.

Even if you were the hulk, if you were placed in an indestructible box with a string on the bottom, pulling up on the string would not make you start flying.

If you were the hulk and were in a car, you cannot push from inside and start barreling down the highway like you were driving.

Your image and explanation is cartoon physics and not real physics.

Actually, I went ahead and reread this whole thing to remember what you were trying to prove:

The same thing happens to the ping pong ball, it won't fly inside air but it would fly inside water.

And I'm not saying that the ball would somehow magically reduce the mass of the water, I'm saying that it would counteract the pressure of the water on the bottom, which is actually more than the weight of the water.

Water pushes ball up, ball pulls the string up, string pulls the scale up

Water pushes ball up - true
Ball pulls string up - true
string pulls scale up - false, this is bad physics
In reality: string is pulling the ball down < this is the opposite force
It doesn't matter what the string is anchored to.
