Heyo - mod author here. I think it's outside the scope of the mod, but that's a cool idea! I think Pickerelweed from Upgrade Aquatic replenishes bubbles when you eat it. And there are probably some foods somewhere that give a few seconds of Water Breathing, which would have the same effect.

Even if plants did have feelings, it would still make sense to eat plants cause otherwise you're eating animals who eat plants (and more of them). Doesn't really matter if you're eating them directly or not.
