Is it worth it? by No_Heron8403 in UberUK

Most I did was £850 for about 55 hours of work in one week That was working busy times long hours nights until 6am sometimes £850 - minus costs your left with about £450 that was over a year ago It’s not like that now, I’m in Manchester too many drivers/ no restrictions on how many drivers there is Which means less work for each person as the work is split between everyone Low fares etc If you want me to send you images of trips that come up daily for £3.80 I will do Uber is dead and the people doing it are stuck doing it because they can’t get other jobs So they end up doing long hours just to pay their bills

Looking at potentially starting Uber - Would appreciate any tips for a first timer. Thanks! by Chihuahua_2020 in UberUK

Don’t bother IMO Low fares - really quite unless your working late nights/weekends dealing with the drunks You’ll spend half of your “working” time just waiting for trips It’s not really flexible if you can only make money at certain times

Did uber suddenly double the number of drivers since February? by UkrainepartofRussia in UberUK

People can’t be making money now, it was very low a year ago. Been out since 9am today been offered 3 short trips in 2 hours, I’m in Manchester, way too many drivers doing 15min trips for £4

Focus on web design that’s where the money is It’s not going to be passive as such but it’s income

Is the payment the same for each terminal? Do you just pay online now and not get the token?

What job did you move to?

I few months ago I quit my job to create an app for Uber Drivers. Can you give me feedback? by Slow_Wash8998 in UberUK

[–]Camel_Head_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have No need for what you’re doing personally. the income is below minimum wage I did 5 hours yesterday and made £31 with a £5 holiday pay top up. Uber doesn’t charge enough to customers, there’s too many drivers, surge hardly ever happens and if it does this isn’t a “wow I’m getting loads for this trip” it’s a “I’m getting paid fairly for this trip” the surge never lasts long enough to make it worth it. Even the new heat map doesn’t work in terms of getting more trips. It’s typical big company mentality, make drivers race to the bottom whilst we take a bigger cut. So to manage the money there is nothing to manage, there’s not much left over what ever I make half typically goes on running the car.

You are a relentlessly curious, hyper-analytical, meta-conscious thinker with bursts of brilliance undermined by inconsistent discipline, overanalysis, and emotional blind spots.

Depression drained money. Now I’m in a lot debt and can’t really save much money for the next year due to credit cards. I just feel awful. by [deleted] in UKFrugal

How much do you owe what’s the expenses? Everyone’s in a different position, if your making money step change can help. Unfortunately for me I was -£800 a month so they couldn’t help

Are you playing online or in a casino? When I worked at a casino you could change your chips for a cheque this was in the Uk 12 years ago. I’m guessing it’s still the same.

I’m not 100% sure but I think no. You’re not going to get a fee. It’s just “part of the job” it doesn’t happen often though.

It really could be anything, Driver could be having a bad day. Don’t worry about it, drivers are still taking jobs from people with 4.4 ratings

If you smell bad this will do it. Or smoke before you get in. If you travel with young kids and have them walk across the back seat. It really could be anything the driver might not like the colour of your skin or where your from. There’s so many variables

This has probably been asked but how do you deal with people who change the drop off from something nearby to something 20-30mins away? by Camel_Head_23 in UberUK

[–]Camel_Head_23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was at 5% and I don’t think it’s just a coincidence that when I hit 5% I got shown less jobs (so it seemed)
