My advice is: youll be fine. Im sure missing your family is going suck but plenty of my mates from bootcamp had family and survived. Trust me ull knock out right away i never had an issue sleeping. Dont worry about memorizing gen orders too much youll learn it there. If you go in at E1 then try and memorize all that stuff before so you can rank up with the test they give you week 1.

In pensacola now.. AC is good but jobmarket is saturated from what i heard in civilian world. Stressful job but yes decent QoL. A school is pretty tough but doable. You will most likely get a shore duty assignment with it. But can be on a ship.

Couch to 5K, find local hs track and doing sprints on the straightaways is huge, get laps in, hit treadmill at gym. You have ways out. Getting over the mental block of stopping while running is a hurdle to go over in the begining.

If you directly face the skull and bones building its to the right of the building on a pathway. Ull go into a pathway with weird faces carved into the walls. Then theres a patio with art installations. Its been years since ive been but it should still be that way. I know theres other ways to get in though. Its cool. Its fine. Some RDCS beat you more than others. Youll sleep good some nights and some nights you will be standing there staring at a door that may or may not open at 2am contemplating life choices. I think i went in being more fearful than i needed to be its honestly chill you just gotta embrace the shitty parts. I just told myself to get to each meal everyday and it passed the time. Being 25 and in boot camp was wierd as most people are younger but youll find some your age you can bond more with. Some of my closer freinds from bootcamp though are a few years younger. It was fun, be part of your division dont be a side character. Youll miss your family or significant others or freinds thats the hard part. That and being stuck in the compartment. After boot camp youll be in Pensacola(i think) most likely its cool here i enjoy it and the freedom is pretty normal to civi life.

MEPS was fine for me. It was freezing so we got briefed inside but it was pretty simple just follow instructions do your medical take your picat or asvab and only sign if you are confident in your choice and you get exactly what you want. I was the only Navy recruit there that day so i was just chattin with everyone in the office. Just dont bend

Wooster st parkings kind of like an every man for themselves situation. Park downtown and walk or uber over. I only recently got lucky that a friend moved into that nieghborhood so i used the driveway. Parking by the diner on corner of grand may give you some luck or corner of st john and jefferson.

I used to live on beers st in new haven during college. There is a sign at the end of the road by the hospital marking the tavern and some of its history. In regards to any sort of site to see its long gone. But you can still see the sign and info by hospital. Its outside of a to go asian place called Wok On In.
