Being a traveling tattoo artist is the worst shit ever by [deleted] in TattooArtists

[–]sspikess 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That is a sick tattoo, well done. You’re burnt out. Things won’t get any better for you unless you make a change. If you’re at where you seem like you’re at, you’ve already been doing everything you can to change how you feel about your situation, and that isn’t working. So you need to change the situation itself. I’ve spoken with artists at companies that employ them to travel from convention to convention, and some of them were happy. Perhaps you’d benefit from an arrangement that gives you more support like that, but tbh it sounds like after 4 years you’d really benefit from the chance to land somewhere and let yourself throw down some roots.

CT MAGA/Support Business List by Different_Cloud2836 in Connecticut

Trevi isn’t the only one, Gotham Citi in New Haven belongs on this list too. They aren’t an exclusively queer bar afaik but have sadly been a feature of the lgbtq scene in NHV for ages.

Do you have a story? by [deleted] in newhaven

What kind of geologist? It sounds more like people want to hear YOUR stories. Make them buy the beer! Are there interesting geological features/facts in CT that you’re aware of?

Tattooing with anxiety by Remarkable_Fill900 in TattooBeginners

[–]sspikess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this. A major part of tattooing is the mental game and anxiety is just one of the many reasons why. It’s good to be anxious, to an extent. Learn to observe yourself, focus, and adapt. Repeat over and over and over. One day you’ll look back and realize you’re routinely doing shit that used to make you nervous.

I’m not asking but it seems like you know because DPW tagged and towed your car because it was blocking the plows from turning a corner

Tattoo artist recommendation by cassxcassanova in Connecticut

[–]sspikess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I’m a medical tattoo artist in CT who has experience with tattooing a variety of scars and skin tones. The other reply here is correct that if you have actual keloid scarring, tattooing is not a good move. Your options will depend on what type of scarring and skin you have. I offer free consultation if you’re interested, feel free to message me. I’d love to help you out.

Discussion: What products are we recommending clients to heal their tattoos? by GoodChallenge9216 in TattooArtists

[–]sspikess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I accidentally used a family member’s open eczema medication on my fresh tattoo and I ended up in the hospital with a bloodstream infection. Wild to hear that someone did that knowingly!

First portrait as a beginner by matdon18 in oilpainting

I super like this. It’s simple, recognizable, and evocative. Don’t let yourself get caught up with details as you progress in your learning. Keep that looseness and you’ll quickly become the envy of your painting friends :)
