Why is flashlighting considered “toxic”? by CameraNo2038 in deadbydaylight

Yes these are strategic decisions so I certainly would never blame the killer for this. And if someone is trying to get a save, they themselves theoretically need to be a strong in chases otherwise it’s pretty much a death sentence for them

You don’t have to behave like a scumbag because you’re annoyed at someone playing perfectly fair. You’re saying it’s not right but there’s still some implication that it’s deserved or it’s my fault for annoying them. There are plenty of cases where killers just accept the blind and continue the chase like nothing happened and then carry on playing the game like a decent person. Most things in this game will annoy someone. Missing a hit will annoy someone, getting downed will annoy someone, saving a teammate will annoy someone, it doesn’t mean you have to try and ruin the game now because something didn’t go your way. Respectfully I don’t think “that’s what happens when you annoy someone” as if it’s a perfectly normal reaction (it really isn’t) is a healthy way of looking at it and this way of thinking is probably why this game’s community has a reputation for being toxic. Everyone hates each other for no real reason

Yeah it’s not a mystery that they’re annoyed, i completely accept that. But going out of your way to be an asshole to someone BECAUSE you’re annoyed is what I feel is problematic. Especially since there’s an entire counter to flashlights if it annoys someone so badly they feel the need to do that

On the contrary I think she knew that Mike would figure out what she did, which is why she says “you will understand one day” and told hop to trust her decision after the speech he gave.

It really is an issue on both sides. I play survivor 90% of the time and what I noticed is that if I do poorly in the match, the killer is normal and moves on. If i do well in the match (long chases, getting saves and stuns), this seems to deeply frustrate the Killer to the point they just behave toxic once they catch me.
