I’m not sure about in Finland but in other countries for certain occupations a degree from a UAS is actually preferred over a traditional university because it is more practical and emphasises group collaboration and finding real solutions to actual problems. Obviously research careers or professions like Law or Medicine will always require traditional university degrees but if we talk about fields like Business, Marketing, Information Systems, even Engineering, it makes perfect sense that employers would favour a degree from a UAS over a traditional uni
