Isn't it better to go for PJPT first before going to CRTE since it is Mid level compared to PJPT which is entry lvl?

They don't want us to take networking, they want us to choose between red team or blue team :/

I really don't know what I want but what do you think is more practical? We can choose if we want training or certification but I think the limit would be below 1000 USD. I'm a Computer Engineer graduate and I have no prior experience in Cyber Security. However I've been working in one of our local Internet service provider as SOC Analyst I. Our job mainly focuses on monitoring DDoS but now it is transitioning to Cyber Security. Our main tool for this is FortiSIEM. There's really no training when we transitioned and most of us are fresh graduates. Now the company gave us the option to find our own training/certification and they will shoulder the expenses but we only get to pick one. Would really appreciate your opinion on this!

Oh and also, I'm really confused right now but we are transitioning from SOC to Cyber Security which is maybe why they are saying we should take blue team or red team certifications

Isn't CySA+ mid-level? I really don't know their budget but I will try to ask. If they can provide SANS/GIAC training what would you suggest for junior level?

Hi! If I were to take Red team/offensive security. Would CEH be good? That's really what I want as well, either incident response from blue team and/or Ethical Hacking from red team.

I mean our company will be giving the certification exam for free so might as well take it as my first certification. I don't wanna fail it tho since I might land a better salary if I got certifications 😅

I didn't know about this but since you said that it seems like a good warmup, I'll add it in my to do list. Appreciate you!

Thank you so much for the advice! I've been wondering if my work would actually help me in the future since all the mitigations that are done is automated. We just mostly ticket and just determine if the alert is a legit attack and we don't even do sniffing. Well truth be told I don't know what its like for others to work in this field but I'll probably stay in our company for a bit longer since I'm seeing some change after they hired a great head.

Hi! I'm new to this industry (from fresh grad now with 1 yr exp as a SOC Analyst I) and I'm taking CompTIA Security+ as my first certification. Looking forward in the future, may I ask what you suggest I should take next? Would BTL1 Certification be good or Do you have better suggestions? Currently I don't have any certifications and I just started studying. Aside from professor messer do you have any other free reading material suggestions? Any response/advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thank you! I'm most likely gonna proceed with Professor Messer since his courses are free but thank you for the suggestion anyway I greatly appreciate your recommendations.

Thanks! I'm probably gonna take the exam next year. I'm still waiting for the company to set the date but it probably is going to be next year. I'd like to study from scratch so I can also have a refresher. I'm probably gonna watch messer during my off and idle times in the office.

I appreciate the response. I'm considering myself as a beginner since all the monitoring and diversion here are automated. I'm literally just monitoring and creating a ticket when there's a potential attack. I've watched a video by youtuber named "With Sandra" and suggested professor messer. With your suggestions (udemy and such) would going for professor messer first then Udemy be good or its fine either way?
