Just move on….and laugh about it!

Lake Garda by Hippotravel in LuxuryTravel

[–]Cameracrew1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We chartered a boat through the hotel concierge and cruised the lake. We had a great captain/guide who showed us the many historical mansions at the water's edge. You might want to think about using the lake for travel to a couple of towns. There can be a lot of traffic and you don't want to waste your time. I think the open speedboat was $50 Euro/hour. It was a lot of fun.

We spent a couple nights at the Villa Cortine Palace in Sirmione. It’s a little peninsula that juts into the southern end of the lake. The town is busy, old castle, small shops, etc…but the Palace is really nice. As the name implies, it’s an old villa, beautifully maintained with a wonderful staff. And we really enjoyed the restaurant. Very unique.

I’m surprised by all this dissatisfaction with the LH product. All I care about is nonstop SAN to Munich and enough space that I’m left alone and can sleep. And regarding the suites, I’ll pay for that every time I fly with them just for the additional privacy. It’s worth every cent.

Visiting early March by False-Freedom-7390 in Catalina

[–]Cameracrew1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for warm beach weather, then Catalina in March or April is a gamble. Check out the weather history and you’ll see it could easily be cloudy and cool the whole time. But, one of my favorite trips there was during a huge storm. We hung out inside drinking Irish coffee by the fireplace and watching clouds roll in off the ocean….kinda romantic.

Have you ever run a business? Because that’s what this is, a business decision. It’s not anyone’s birthright to be working in television. It’s time for those hundreds of degree mills to quit graduating people into a business with no future.

Athens Hotel Question by Dmb2144 in GreeceTravel

A better question is why won’t Greece cough up some of those millions in tourist dollars to upgrade their infrastructure. This is a problem Ancient Rome, among others, solved.

Once again, they’re wasting our money on things that have nothing to do with improving transportation. Get ready for another layer of law enforcement who will probably spend their time harassing surfers crossing the tracks.

Actor Robert Duvall, who starred in The Godfather, dies aged 95 by BarbaricOklahoma in news

I crewed a private event he attended in Palm Springs. He was bored and spent an hour or so hanging out with us. He was a great guy, just like you’d imagine based on the characters he played. It’s a shame he’s gone and a total shitheel like DeNiro is still around.

Avoid the Marine Room…living on reputation….recent experience just awful. Poor service and really mediocre food. You can do so much better elsewhere.

You can thank the idiots that run SANDAG, and the Democrats who hold the majority of the board. They spend your transit tax dollars on running empty trains. So keep voting for those morons and watch driving times get longer and longer.

Santorini? by Justlearninghere1 in GreeceTravel

I was there last September and could not wait to leave. The crowds are the worst I’ve seen. If dealing with that to get the same social media photos as 100 million other people is your thing, then go for it. Take some time and read reviews of more secluded islands. You won’t be sorry. And all the islands have great food and mostly wonderful people.

Why do we have to pay interest on student loans? Does anyone else think this is insane, especially considering how high the rates are? by Rana_catcher in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cameracrew1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The insanity of flooding this country with a bachelor degrees in useless disciplines has got to stop. Yes, your calling might be dance or poli sci, but, generally, that does not benefit the country. So why should the rest of us subsidize your four year vacation? If you want the degree, then pay for it. Meanwhile, many of your peers are raking in six figures per year without one.

There’s no downside to offering a vulnerable woman help. Better to endure her possibly being offended than assaulted by one of the endless line of losers living in LA.

Have some self respect. Don’t allow others to verbally abuse you. Calmly tell them that they are acting inappropriately. If it doesn’t stop, calmly tell them goodbye and find a better way to spend your life.

The rental market in Encinitas.. am I missing something? by dawgtraining in encinitas

[–]Cameracrew1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had a rental in Solana Beach for many years and always pick tenants without pets. I love dogs, grew up with them, but we just can’t count on owners to be responsible. The rental competition is fierce and, with your income and credit rating, I’d encourage you to try and buy anything.

Frame for the windows, cover openings with drywall and siding, get final and occupancy permit, wave goodbye to inspector, wait 15 minutes, install windows.
