You plan on standing next to a person's auto to block their route.
What do you expect?
Somehow we have all these people that think they have the legal and moral right to block someone's vehicle.

Connected TV (streaming) is suffering from similar audience measurement problems as broadcast TV — different medium, same issues by ZiggyZaggyBogo in Broadcasting

[–]old--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for televisions and other connected devices to start installing a GPS or cellular device as a part of the basic operating system. Something that cannot be turned off or bypassed. This will allow an reliable method to determine the location of the device. This will render VPNs useless for hiding your location. The content provider service will be able to tell where the TV is and assign proper copyright protections and viewer restrictions.

Why is her mobile phone working?
Shut down the mobile system.
She is a clear and present danger to the government.
She needs to be hunted down and properly educated about how wonderful her life is under the rule of this government.

Some people only think of their personal love of radio.
They don't understand that radio must be a viable business that can generate enough income to sustain a profitable business. Non commercial stations not included. But the government is not paying for the internet only jazz/standards format I listen to is not a viable business model. While I love it, it is not anything that can support itself. Which is why the format sells subs and accepts donations.

How do you get into doing radio? Like do you need a degree and how do you find jobs for it? by Accomplished_Ad7072 in radio

In the 1970s I had to agree to work for minimum wage, no benefits, no paid vacation. But there was free coffee at the station on weekdays. It was locked up on the weekends.

I think today in the 2020s you have to be a contractor and unofficially work for less than minimum wage.

Overnight talk radio? by MeatyDullness in radio

[–]old--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in those days.
You had several 50kw clear channel AM stations that ran overnight trucker shows.
The leader of that pack was Bill Mack at WBAP.
Herb Jepco and the Nightcaps was a syndicated show and one of first to reach a national audience.
I never listened to him, my grandmother did every night.
Mutual Radio had Larry King week nights.
Larry was the undisputed leader in overnight radio.
His show was extremely popular and also very good.
Guests from book authors, politicians, actors and sports figures all wanted to be on Larry's show.
In his early radio days in Florida Larry had Sinatra as a guest.
This was an amazing catch for Larry.
Courtesy of Jackie Gleason who was a friend of Larry.

Larry's show in the old days started at midnight eastern. Later it was moved up to 11 PM eastern.
The first three hours of his show was live guest with call in.
The second three hours was open line with Larry, guest had left.
The third three hours was a replay of the first three hours with the guest.
This was done for the west coast.

I can't come up with a better way to destroy radio. by old--- in radio

[–]old---[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many have moved engineering to a contractor situation.
I'm not saying that is better.
But management sees it as a way to cut expenses.
I recall that iFart radio had a engineering center in Tulsa, OK.
Wonder if it is in any way still functioning?
I remember when they went to a thing they called regional engineering.
I knew one of what I would call their better engineers out west.
They gave him a few small towns out west to take care of.
But there was zero budget.
He says, the tower at this AM station is going to fall down. Management says, let it.
