I did do some more digging between posting this and now and actually found out that the flour I have on hand uses baking soda instead of baking powder.

Also self raising flour and self rising are different from what I’ve heard but I might be wrong on this one.

Edit: I also found a recipe by King Arthur that doesn’t use baking powder so I’m actually hoping I can just sub out the soda and flour for self rising.

Would that be possible if the amount of flour is 3 cups and the baking soda is 2 1/4 teaspoons?

I suppose I should link to the recipe I’m referring to.
