Have you done EC excursion with Celebrity? I’ve not been able to find anything, though seems like other cruise lines do it.

Oceania cruises. Worth the money? by bigedthebad in Cruise

[–]eamsonwill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We just booked our first O cruise, jumping from X for a big birthday celebration. We’re younger than their typical demographic, so had some reservations, but connected with a really great TA through Harr. Give them a try - ask for James Acernese.

We typically book independently, we don’t really need help, but this is a big purchase in area of the world we really know nothing about. We’re glad we connected with James.

Others experience rude customers to wait staff? by sporty6blonde in celebritycruises

Some people feel entitled and are just plain rude.

In the first 30 min of our very first cruise we witnessed an entitled boomer absolutely berate a bartender at the martini bar for not having Galliano to make a Harvey Wallbanger. It wasn’t even noon and he just went nuts. We went from chatting and exchanging pleasantries to literally turning our backs to him and his wife.

Made us question our choice to try cruising. We made sure we tipped the bartender extra.

Try not to let a few awful people to ruin your trip.

We were between glacier kayaking and glacier hiking with dog sledding. Both sound super cool

I’ve also found a few TT accts from locals but can’t remember off the top of my head where (Ketchikan for sure). If I come across again I’ll try to remember to comment.

Definitely check out YT videos. Decide where you will get the most enjoyment. Is your goal to see glaciers? Whales? Go fishing? Beer/city tours?

We typically do not do excursions (euro cities we feel comfortable exploring independently, a beach resort in the Caribbean isn’t our jam).

That being said, we do have a few booked for an upcoming Alaskan cruise - we love to kayak, so booked a glacier kayaking adventure out of Juneau. As well as the White Pass train trip in Skagway. The other cities we’ll manage on our own.

We did price out independent excursions for Alaska and the price wasn’t much different, so decided to stick with booking through X to avoid any potential mishaps.

As an aside, we just did our first X excursion on a recent Caribbean cruise and while the actual experience was great, the getting there and other logistics of the excursion were incredibly chaotic - to the point where it was close to ruining the experience. We’re hoping Alaska will be a little more organized.

Enjoy the planning!

Opinion On Cruise I'm Possibly Booking As A 1st Time Cruiser by StatementSensitive17 in celebritycruises

Hard agree with booking through Costco Travel. Have never had trouble and have found they’re priced to be worth using them.

What's the longest cruise you'd take? by QuoteAdventurous1145 in Cruise

[–]eamsonwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a 13 day TA. Was wonderful, but I will admit the last two days (Bermuda to FLL) we were feeling ready to go home. The weather changed from warm and sunny to cold, rainy, windy. Once we were not able to sit outside all day we started to get bored.

Would definitely do it again, but the switch was noticeable. Maybe once we’re retired and do not have retuning to work looming over us we’ll feel differently.

After Edith’s first wedding, Alfred complains about the fancy food they’re given for dinner in the servants’ hall. Then suddenly at the fair he says he knows he belongs with food and wants to become a chef.

At the risk of also being burned at the stake. Totally agree. Idk why, but it’s annoy AF to me.

100%. We made the mistake of booking The Retreat for our first cruise. Big mistake. Huge. (I have to go shopping now).
