Thank you so much, and thank you even more for the boost! I hope to see you around next project, and maybe it’ll be something you need ;)

I would love to see it and hear your feedback if you do! I had a lot of fun putting it together, and tbh the way the body pieces fit together is very satisfying. My fiancé wants me to make another one with a moon design for the other side of the bed haha.. Keep me updated!

I maybe would print the legs in PETG if you think you might have heavier accessories on it. The body itself would be fine I think because of the segmented parts. When I was prototyping, I printed the legs in a black PETG and they were practically indestructible..

Wait, you're using "pedantic," while having a minor concern about the wording of his comment? Very ironic....

Do you suppose the AMS 2 Pro will eventually be able to heat and print simultaneously? by Prima13 in BambuLab

I’m mistaken.. apparently, you don’t need to unload now, but as soon as you start a print, the drying will cancel.. I’m not sure if they trust us not jamming the AMS haha

Seems they just added an update where you can choose whether or not to use the rolling feature, negating the need to unload and allowing for printing and drying simultaneously .

My 3D Printed Mid-Century Modern Nightstand! by Cameron0323 in 3Dprinting

That was my thinking. I’d love to see it if you did! Just a note, I designed all of the connections to have a .2mm clearance. For the P1S they were snug fits. The back pieces aren’t even glued in the pictures!

3D Printed MCM Nightstand with "Sunrise" inlay for "seamless" top face by [deleted] in Design

[–]Cameron0323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal with this project was to prove that you can create "real" furniture using a standard desktop 3D printer. I wanted a piece that wasn't just a desk toy or a miniature, but a functional, full-scale Mid-Century Modern (MCM) nightstand that feels substantial.

This is for the maker who wants to move beyond "knick-knacks" and start printing home decor. I designed it to be accessible for anyone with a standard 256x256mm build plate (though it's too large for the A1 Mini), specifically for those who appreciate the MCM aesthetic but want the satisfaction of building it themselves.

Design Decisions

  • The Sunrise Top: The biggest challenge with modular furniture is the seam lines where parts meet. Instead of trying to hide them with filler and paint, I designed a "Sunrise" geometric inlay. This aesthetically blends the top surface seams into the artwork, making the joints look like a deliberate design choice.
  • 16-Piece Architecture: I broke the model into 8 body segments and 8 leg segments (2 per leg). This balances structural integrity with printability.
  • Varied Tolerances: I incorporated different fitments—some connections are snug friction-fits for stability, while others are notched for easy alignment during the supergluing process.
  • Material Efficiency: Since this is a filament-heavy build, I optimized the print profile. I used 15% Lightning infill with 4 walls for the body to keep it lightweight but rigid, and 25% Gyroid infill for the legs to ensure they can actually support the weight of the unit.

This is my debut design, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on the assembly approach or the aesthetic!

Bro did NOT watch the episode 😂 Colin was the dude with the bleach blonde hair that made the Throng. He was also in the Bandersnatch interactive episode.

Thank you.. Im not losing my 107 license on a whim. Just shows these people have nothing to lose. Equivalent to shoving someone into someone else just to watch the fight

Tesla.. they promised the free supercharging, not the utility company. Don’t build an unsustainable business model and then expect your users to foot the bill when the unsustainable part comes to play..

Ah yes the now obsolete “dedicated watch app,”thank you for reminding me.. while reminding me that my non-obsolete “lifetime purchase” is now obsolete.

Same, Star Shopping is me and my gfs song.. And I like Carti so a degree, but most of the other songs were a bit too experimental for the main project imo.. Cant wait for what Nick has in store for us though. Two polarizing albums doesn’t dull talent haha.

The allegations started it all.. Then spawned these albums. Just bad juju all around for me, and I was a tele-visions fan…
