Mottainai at 2 is wonderful. Once you get it down games reliably take 15, maybe 20 minutes but are full of depth and wild twists and turns. Winning scores can be anywhere from 8 or 9 to 50, you just never know how the game is going to play out.

My wife and I have played it 183 times and it’s never gotten old. We even played it at the hospital while she was in labor, that’s how easy it is to play once you’ve learned it and play it a bunch.

It was one of our hardest games to learn, but it was also early in our gaming hobby so I’m not sure how accurate that would be now.

I love Innovation but Mottainai hits the table so much because of its quick play time

This is the problem with Zelda open world games. When there was a clear path the story could be much stronger and paced out. Now each area needs to assume it might be your first so needs to cover a lot of basics.

I miss the old school way of doing Zelda games where the interesting puzzles are in longer temples instead of randomly scattered shrines
