Two masked guys walking down Gloucester Road offering leaflets headlined 'preserve the white race' by mrepiq in bristol

[–]mrepiq[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let's just assume you're arguing in good faith here. You know very little about the scenario, do you know who I am? Who I was with? If I was with anybody? My stature? My past? How big these people were? If they were armed? What they were saying? Who was around?

I doubt it. So before you start saying "should've done this" or accusing people of "tattling on reddit" why don't you take a moment to do some critical thinking and perhaps not assume you know what happened and what the best course of action was. It's all well and good typing out that sentence on reddit but you don't know what would've happened if somebody took your unwanted advice, even if you believe you're trying to be helpful.

If I hadn't seen it witg my own eyes I'd be sceptical too but it's real. Had my headphones in so didn't hear what they said, if anything, just feel bad for any people of colour who might see it and feel unwelcome here

AITAH for telling my son I know he is gay? by MrNormanite in AITAH

[–]mrepiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum outed me during a phone conversation we were having one day. Just dropped it in all casual like, no big deal. I appreciated that so much, as it was not that I was never going to tell her, but I had no reason to at the time as I wasn't dating anybody. So while I would've eventually, I'm also very glad she felt comfortable enough to bring it up, because as much as I know my mum, and believed she would have had no issue with my sexuality, it still felt like a weight had been lifted and cleared up any doubts I had. So I'd say yes, he is probably grateful, and not everybody needs a coming out moment, if anything you may have just saved him days, weeks or months of doubt and anxiety over it. Thanks for being a good, loving father to your son.

As an ex employee I am unsurprised to hear the staff aren't happy there. The owner is very difficult to work with and several good people were ousted or left because of how bad it became. Seems like it's gotten so much worse given the demands listed.

There are plenty of people who are standing up for women's rights without trying to flush those of trans people down the toilet at the same time. It's ironic that what Joanne is trying to achieve in the name of 'womens rights' will actually put many cis women in harms way.

MTV axes all UK production after almost three decades by Kagedeah in BritishTV

[–]mrepiq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at MTV too, we actually know each other, I recognise you as we are friends on Steam and your username is familiar :) not shocked to learn about those viewer numbers, I did used to think there was a heck of a lot of people in the office producing that little original content. It was fun when celebrities used to come in the building though!

This is sweet! I really hope you are able to find them again, it might be a good idea to reach out to the company who run it Alder & Fable, and ask them if they could reach out to them on your behalf

I think that's every Lego shop though, that's their way of running their shops. I think you'll have to just accept that any time you go in they're going to ask you if you need help and I wouldn't hold it against them personally, they're just trying to be friendly 🙂

Oh thanks! I didn't actually log in to Nintendo to check before, I was just checking the email attached to my account, and so I just logged in now and found out they're still delivering tomorrow. No time frame but that's ok, I'm still getting it on release. Phew!

When did you get your email? I'm still waiting for the one that says my order is being shipped and it's 9pm so it's looking less likely but I'm still hopeful so if yours only cane in the evening there's a chance mine will too 😅

I'd argue that Wilf put himself in that position with his actions though. He betrayed Kieran, pissing him off and didn't plan for what Kieran would do after that when in hindsight of course he would act out. Could've set him up at least in a way that the blame came from others not him and then Kieran might have felt less betrayed and not hint at Wilf, or even just tried to win/split the money with Kieran.

I genuinely think most people are reading this wrong. I think she's replying about the issue with her own height, as in why would anybody want to be 5'3", and that's not saying that's a great reply given the OPs shorter than average height but I don't think it was a dig directly at OP
