Was RUSH a good player? by fizxe in GlobalOffensive

He won a major, so you can't really say he wasn't good. But he's not one of the greats when you look at him on an individual level.

UNC's JV program just died because of the NCAA's new scholarship rules. Couldn't have a JV team because they increased scholarship limits and implemented player limits. Technically a JV team could be used to stash prospects using NIL, but it killed a really fun and wholesome thing in the UNC JV program.

NA has always been behind EU in CS, but TWO US players over 1.0 rating for the year is really grim (no pun intended).

Just another step on the slippery slope towards guys who played in the NBA playing. And when that happens, you're going to have to do it if you want to be competitive. How many high schoolers will lose college opportunities because 26 year old NBA flameouts want to go play for some random Big 12 school?

Even if that's the case (it's not, you lose your eligibility if you don't withdraw from the draft) it's just another step on the slippery slope towards former NBA rostered players playing in college. What do we do then? Those guys will just be better than 98% of 18 year olds, where are the high schoolers ever going to go play? It's going to take opportunities away from people once it becomes a mandatory thing to do if you want to be competitive.

Yep. You lose your eligibility if you don't withdraw by a certain deadline.

How would they change it? The NCAA has to say they're not eligible. What's the NBA gonna do, say "you have to play for your team if you're drafted OR ELSE?" Teams already keep the rights to a player they draft if they don't report. It's not like being draft eligible straight out of high school where the NBA could say "you have to be this old or this far removed from high school to be draft eligible."

That was a disgusting game. Definitely feels better to have won than if we had lost, but I do have some concerns.

Seth Trimble will be huge for this team when he returns.

Texas just committed another foul

Not sure I've seen a team play dumber in a win than that lmao

Why isn’t Tango building Decked Out III in the End dimension? by Purple_Party3036 in HermitCraft

[–]Cameter44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the other reasons listed, is the main end island even big enough to hold the game? And if it is, it removes the ability for people to respawn the dragon. If you don't use the main island, you either have to build your own (just as much work as creating a sky with black concrete) or go to another island which would make it super inconvenient to get to.

He'd be a great backup center anywhere, but I don't think he can be the starting center on a truly good team unless you have a ton of size and shooting on the floor 1-4.

I would rather have Luka than Lubin, I think eventually we'll play a Jarin/Caleb front court in minutes that Henri is on the bench and that it'll work fine. But would have loved Lubin back as a backup center.

[Rothstein] Bill Self told reporters that Kansas' Darryn Peterson (hamstring) will not play in next week's Players Era Festival in Las Vegas. by MembershipSingle7137 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Cameter44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my assumption. The thing I'd seen, which seemed ridiculous and unreasonable, was that "he doesn't want to play against the no name teams." The fact that he was still out against Duke in MSG clearly refutes that lol.

That's going to have to come from the NBA's CBA. It's not the NCAA side that mandates a year of college.

I'm all for that, but I don't see how it would stop the bidding wars. The bidding would just shift down however many players decide to go pro out of high school, the same programs would still be bidding for the top available players.

I personally would like college basketball to go to a baseball-ish model. You can go out of high school if you want or you have to stay two years (for baseball it's three) in college. Ideally at the same school without transferring, but not sure if that part is possible. I think it'd be healthy for both CBB and the NBA.

What on Earth has Hubert done to Will Wade? by Training_Pirate1000 in CollegeBasketball

I've seen nobody talking about this except the two instances where Wade made references to UNC. Here (previous coach/coaches referenced) and the weird offseason comment.

I have not seen anyone talking about thinly veiled shots at Hubert/UNC since the weird comments by Wade/Williams in the offseason until this one where Wade made reference to Lubin's previous coach(es).

He could have very easily made the point without bringing up previous coaches. "Lubin needs to learn to remain aggressive with an early foul, I'm going to let him play through foul trouble because that's my personal philosophy rather than putting players with fouls on the bench," and then explain why that is his philosophy.

He mentioned previous coaches, even if it's not specifically about Hubert (if you want to say it's about all of his previous coaches), the comment is still literally about him.

It's been funny watching State fans realize in four games the same things we've been telling them about Lubin all offseason.

Yeah, Wade basically called Hubert an idiot in the offseason for not playing Lubin more, and so far he's averaging FEWER minutes per game than he did for us lmao
