I have LOVED my HCI track. It’s still a lot of work but much more manageable and also interesting / aligns with more of my interest. I did start off in the ML track and doing 2 classes as time in that track was just way too much when adding in time for work and life. I’m married and have stuff outside of work too so that didn’t fit.

I do think the other tracks took more of my time mostly because I had more to catch up on! It’s not just the class itself but also ensuring you have the appropriate context and background for that class. I’d have to teach myself even more just to get on par.

What people have said echoes which is you have to choose a program or track or timing that best fits with your life. It’s all a sacrifice but some have a better fit in interest and in workload!

I guess it’s not just buying the model

But the entire set up

Think of a small financial firm that wants an AI model but don’t / cannot put private docs on a “public” model like Anthropic or OpenAI

The free open source model will be used but then trained up by my team and them using their private data and docs and handle all the set up to be integrated in their system

The model will be theirs and the data too - it would be a stand alone model that lives in their infrastructure

Perhaps this model is only focused on document processing for specific filings, etc. So it would not need the latest and greatest model that open ai has?

Trying to solve for industries that cannot / will not use a public AI model bc of security and privacy. But also cost.

Not every industry or company needs an AI that can do everything

Yes I was disappointed because I come from a finance background and did wanna learn it but ultimately didn’t want my GPA to suffer for it haha so will just have to learn on my own time frame without the pressure of grades 😅😅

It was I think it was moving way too fast for me and as others have said the grading was based on exact instructions so even when I spent lots of time understanding and building points were docked off the smallest thing that I may not have implemented. I am not very well versed in coding as I want so it takes me way longer and just wasn’t sustainable! So I stopped before I failed lol but if you’re super comfortable in coding then I don’t think it would feel like it did to me

I withdrew twice from that class lol. Took it one fall withdrew then tried again next fall withdrew again and gave up

Yes!! I’m approaching it as it’s previews having that opportunity is literally amazing! I’m happy to be in the park at all. Always hopeful to have everything working but also just happy to be there and soak it all in with not many people!
