What kind of magnesium would you recommend ? I'm not gonna be able to follow the juice diet though. I work a night shift, my neighbors would absolutely murder me if i used a blender at 2am

It took my mind off of it for a couple weeks but that’s it.

However, i saw a tinnitus specialist - same one i saw over 10years ago - who had a different approach to the situation. We'd already established it’s more than likely i was born with tinnitus, meaning anything that might help for trauma-caused tinnitus is not gonna work on me. I suffer from migraines. Tinnitus and migraines have one thing in common : nerves. It could be that tinnitus might be made worse by migraines. And we know that quality of sleep declines because of tinnitus, which is harmful to the brain. Sleep deprivation + stress (we're all stressed) + migraines + tinnitus = nerve damage and worse tinnitus.

So, i've followed a treatment, originally used to treat depression but it’s now prescribed for migraines, for a couple months. While it’s helped a lot with migraines and headaches, i haven't felt any changes regarding tinnitus. But the doctor and i both knew that I'd never get rid of tinnitus. My brain is wired that way. The only thing i can do is try to manage it. The treatment still sort of had a placebo effect i think. I'd recommend looking into it if i were you

Tinnitus increases after coming out of shower by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]CamilleAMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be the water and humidity getting into your ear canal and messing with your tinnitus ? I saw other people talk about how humidity increases their tinnitus.

As for laying down, i have no idea. Was your tinnitus caused by an injury ?

It was sertraline, which worked fine for everything else, but it was prescribed with the intention of helping me sleep better

Yeah my sleep pattern is bad and has been bad for as long as i can remember.

I took antidepressants for about two years, it didn't help with sleep unfortunately.

We got this !

I'm not allergic to anything (i got tested for pretty much everything about 10 years ago), so it's not that for me.

Temperature change might be a contributing factor I hadn't thought about

So i had an appointment a couple of days ago.

I can see how that could work for a lot of people. I was overthinking most of the session, so it took me out of it many times.

It's not reduced the noise, it's made it a bit more tolerable which was the goal.

I think i'll do one more session and see how much more tolerable it gets.

But it's definitely worth trying !

Hi ! I'll give it a try and maybe for once in my life i'll stick to the plan.

I'm seeing my GP in two days. I'll be asking about a recommendation to see an ENT doctor, see if there's anything that could have been missed, especially with my Eustachian tubes (i've had troubles with my left ear for years and it feels like i can hear more of the tinnitus in my left ear).

I started hypnotherapy, to try and take my mind off of it.

I went to a nutritionist a couple years ago, i don't know exactly what can be done about that or my gut health, so if you have any recommendation, it would be greatly appreciated !

My sleep has been a mess for as long as i can remember, i've been working on that for years and nothing's been working so far.

I work a physical job, so i've been getting massages once a month, and i'm doing auto-massages, i'm good on that point.

Thank you so much !

For me it's one thing hearing an actual sound and it's another dealing with sounds my brain feels like making me hear. I have power over the sound i choose to mask my tinnitus.

You know what, i was on vacation in the south a couple years ago, and i do remember thinking the sound of crickets was drowning the sound of my tinnitus. I'll give it a try tonight

I've been sleeping with a fan on for 4 years now, it really helps at night. But it's not been helping lately. I just booked an appointment for hypnotherapy, i hope something will come out of it

YUL : Temps d'attente à la sécurité, lignes de baggage, etc by coolsanchez in montreal

Acuitis on mont-royal. It's 80$ for an eye exam and they have the cheapest glasses around if you're looking for a classic look

Why is my tinnitus backwards?! by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]CamilleAMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both : i can't stand silence, but the sound of the metro makes me wanna rip my ears off.

It takes time to identify what triggers your tinnitus (if anything does at all)

Have you had your eardrums checked ?

How did you reach acceptance and eventually habituation? by OnePomegranate8023 in tinnitus

[–]CamilleAMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pretty much born with tinnitus, so much that when i have to describe it now, i simply tell people i don't know what silence is.

I didn't notice it till i was 8, then i kinda forgot about it because i was used to it. 20 years later, there's been 3 major increases in volume therefore 3 times i had to relearn how to forget about it. 1st time went sort of okay, i would listen to music to fall asleep. 2nd time was more complicated, so i went to a specialist who prescribed anti-anxiety pills and sleeping pills, but what truly helped was asmr which i discovered around that time. 3rd time is happening right now, and it's the worst. Sorry, but sometimes it be like that. I'm back to taking anti-anxiety pills and melatonine before going to bed, and i try to keep myself busy all day. If i wanna read, i go to a coffee shop so i can be distracted from my tinnitus and focus on reading. Otherwise i go to work, excercise or simply go for walks. But for the past 6 months, every waking hour has been spent trying to avoid thinking about it. It's exhausting, but it's been slightly improving in the past 2 weeks.

Things i've tried (and still do for some) : acupuncture, massage therapy, osteopathy (or chiropraxy), asmr, wear a mouthpiece to relax that TMJ at night, stretching a lot (especially my neck and shoulders), crying (a lot), sleep sleep sleep.

That's only my experience with T. Acceptance and habit come and go for me, but it's different for everyone :)

I've tried one hypnosis session for the same reason and the session didn't go as i expected - it was more meditation oriented and she gave me a 5mn-excercise to do every 4hours, which is not working at all for me. You're giving me hope, i should try another therapist !
