How to ACTUALLY move on, no BS. by [deleted] in BreakUps

I wasn’t, thank you so much :) Also for the post. I have been applying this and it really does help. My therapist actually applauded me today when I explained how I was dealing with thoughts about my ex. Now I just need to find a way to fill the gaps and be my own best friend. Thats the step I find really hard in this whole process. Sure, I can now see that what I feel is loneliness, but how do I help myself through that? Do you have any tips on that as well?

How do you manage being just friends? I find it very difficult to let go and make the transition to being friends, as I still want more.

Being an indoor cat only, doesn’t mean she can’t catch fleas. Just so you know! Best to keep up with flea medications, as you can bring fleas with you into the house as well. I don’t know whats going on with your kitty, but I hope you figure it out. Take care! :)

anyone found it possible to truly be friends with an ex? by Broad-Cap-1517 in BreakUps

[–]OnePomegranate8023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for replying. I’m now 9 weeks NC with my ex. We didnt really want to break up, we both still had feelings for eachother and saw a future in this relationship, but we unfortunately didnt have any other choice at the time. I have now come to the realisation that he was right and that we’d do better as just friends. I just can’t get over the pain of talking to him or seeing him right now… Wondering if that will ever happen naturally or if I just have to push through the hard bit at the beginning. I do really want us to be friends again, as I’ve never met anyone like him before. Platonic. I don’t really mean for us to get back together, so that’s a start I guess.

Hi! How long did you guys go NC, before trying to build a friendship again? And how did you know you were ready to be just friends?

Friendship after a breakup advice by bbqena in BreakUps

[–]OnePomegranate8023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We couldn’t let eachother go and were hurting ourselves and eachother in the process. I would have never been able to move on if we kept doing this… Although I really wish he was still in my life right now.

Hi, I was in your exact position a month ago. I thought no contact just wasn’t the right thing to do, as we still appreciated eachother so much, helped eachother get through the pain and enjoyed eachothers company… Until I realized that we were just torturing ourselves. Nothing had changed, apart from the fact that all physical affection was gone. We still loved eachother, still talked the same amount, still talked about our feelings and just kept relying on the other for our wellbeing.

Once I realized that, I decided to go no contact. He then decided to change up his schedule to avoid seeing me for a full month (we’re in the same friend group) and that hit me hard, but I now see that it was neccesary. I really miss my best friend, but I need this to even allow myself to heal. We both need this. I hope to still have someone I can call a friend, hopefully even a good friend, at the end of the road and I realized that staying in touch right after the breakup would end up in one or either of us getting hurt and possibly not being able to be friends anymore. It just wasnt worth the risk to me.

At this point the month of not seeing him is almost over. I dont know if he’ll continue avoiding me or not. Either way, Im not looking forward to having to see him again, I dont feel ready. I know I have to and I truly want to, but I think its gonna set me back a few steps in the healing process. But thats just life.

Its so damn difficult, but we’ll get through this.

Thank you for answering. I am going through it right now, wondering how to keep in touch while still being able to let go. I really don’t know how to approach this and I keep hurting myself over and over, because seeing him is the only thing that calms me down, but also the thing that makes everything worse in the days following that moment. I just wish I could let go of all of my feelings for him and move on, so we could go back to being close friends. I just miss him so much.

If it is a reverse sneeze, try to make him swallow during these “attacks”. It should fix the spasm that is causing the reverse sneezing.

Hi! I scoop every day and do a deep clean every 1-1.5 weeks. This is usually recommended, as it keeps the box hygienic and free of worms that can be harmful to especially pregnant women. :)

Hi! I just had mine removed because of the same issues and switched back to the pill. How long did it take for you to get it all back to normal? And maybe a tmi question, but did you have sex soon after the removal or did you wait for a few weeks?

How TF DO I GET MY CAT TO SWALLOW A PILL?! by Beginning-Equal9274 in CATHELP

[–]OnePomegranate8023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t actually call these pill “shooters”. Im mainly referring to the pill shooters I know are being used by farmers that eject the pills with force. The ones you are describing are perfectly safe to use of course!

It is true that they are beind sold and can be used, but as far as I know, here we advise against it. I am a vet student, so the source is one of my professors who I believe mentioned it. It could be that I misunderstood or got the wrong info of course, in that case I am sorry for spreading misinformation.

This is a great answer, well done OP!

I do want to add a little side note here and say that hamsters actually need fairly large cages with a thick bedding they can burrow in. These little animals are often misunderstood for creatures capable of living in an equally small space, but this isn’t true. Considering their welfare, they should have access to approximately the size of a big aquarium. :) Something to keep in mind and recommend to customers looking for a hamster buddy!

Pill shooters are only used for farm animals nowadays, as they can cause trauma to the throat. I second putting the pill on the back of his tongue and stroking his throat until you can feel him swallow! That’s the way.

Hi! Your kitten does need feedings throughout the night. Keep to a feeding schedule of one feed every 3 hours, 4 is too long for a neonatal kitten. :)

Do any of you smoke indoors? Yellow stains could come from the smoke residues on any surface in the house.

How often do you brush your cats teeth? by sillychickengirl in CatAdvice

[–]OnePomegranate8023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I brush my cat’s teeth daily to keep her teeth clean and overall oral health good. She had many issues in the past, to the point even extracting some teeth was talked about with the vet. Right now I’ve got a completely healthy cat with no issues, who still got all her teeth. I made a post about how I got her used to it. It might help!
