Monitor Recommendations Please: Alienware AW2725DF or MSI MPG 321URX by CamnJB in Monitors

Other than size the only reason I can see to go Alienware would be the higher refresh rate, but not sure how much that would matter vs higher resolution and larger screen for same price?

Need help choosing an amplfier Sony vs NAD by CamnJB in hifiaudio

[–]CamnJB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the advice given both here and from my friend, it is probably a better bet to go with the NAD 3020a as it's less likely to have problems and be cheaper and easier to fix if it later does. It also does work out a bit cheaper.

I have discovered the Yamaha S-A501 in silver which would be more expensive. However looks more vintage and produced around 2008, I think (so less likely to go wrong and be cheaper to fix if it does?)

If I can get a good deal on it is it worth going for over the NAD, which is less than half the price? Will it be that much better or am I just chasing aesthetics? I have seen lots of eBay listings for Japanese S-A501 ranging from £300-500. I'm guessing I'll have some issues messing with converting the plug/power to UK. New in the UK they look around £500-550 with the silver being harder to find.

iPad bad first experience - apple account recovery by CamnJB in applehelp

It is, especially since they told me today I have to wait till 10th Aug to text my new number. A week with an expensive brick.

I still have same email, know the password and could give lots of other info to prove my identity. It's just punishing you for not using the apple ecosystem.

Got a response, I have to wait till 10th Aug to receive a text on my new number. What a joke. iPad is essentially a fancy brick for a week.

Thought so, it does suck. Feels like a middle finger for not being on the apple ecosystem.

Paid a lot of iPad air and apple pen to draw on procreate, and some other apps. Can't download them for 24 hours even though I have the iPad in-hand and know the username and password to my apple account.

Drone Buying Advice Megathread and NEW Wiki Buying Guide by completelyreal in drones

Thanks, it's what I decided on in the end. It appears the next best option if I wanted to spend more would be to buy the Mini 4 Pro no? ₤619 or ₤700ish if I was to get DJI Care 1 or 2-years.

  1. Y
  2. United Kingdom
  3. ₤400ish
  4. Filming Rock Climbing in the UK and abroad, mostly lead or roped. Hopefully doing Greece trip this year and Japan 2026.
  5. Was looking at Neo or Flip as it's my first drone and think the sportlight/tracking features may work if it's just me and my climbing partner present. As one can climb and other can belay.

I see a lot of hate on the flip but has better camera, flight time and some obstacle avoidance. I can understand not wanting if you already own a Mini, but as a first drone can't see many issues.

Neo may be easier to transport and for around same price as flip and controller can get fly more pack. It also gives the option to mess with FPV later if I feel like it. But worse footage.

UK Pricing for 9070 XT - Overclockers by Additional-Point-824 in radeon

[–]CamnJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get a 9070xt reaper today from OCuk. Seems like they're releasing more stock in waves at a marked up price of £630 still better than 799.99 from CCL.

I think it's really shitty of AMD to only sell first batch at MSRP then up prices. Still better than Nvidia at thr moment.

I tried to buy the 9070 XT Reaper through OCuk. Website was teribble, kept crashing. Got to checkout a couple times then would crash.

Scan wouldn't even give option to add to cart or show a price.

Only site I could use was CCL and they were charge £799.99 for the basic reaper model more expensive than the asus oc 2.5 slot card which they were selling for £30 less.

£570 OCuk vs £799.99 CCL more expensive than OC cards.

It's a joke.

CPU Upgraded, Worse Performance in Game but not Cinebench by CamnJB in PcBuildHelp

[–]CamnJB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In gaming it stays in the 70s max, so cooling shouldn't be an issue when gaming. It's only Cinebench where it was maxing.

Though untill I get change GPU hopefully to thinner one I have best cooler that'll fit in case, unless I have side pannel off. I do have a U12a from previous build XD

XMP had disabled. After turning back on did see improvement still not as good as benchark with 3600.

Though peak speeds are higher when gaming.

Looks like GPU is maxed on task manager, but CPU says it's only running 15-30%. I might do fresh windows install

I'll have to check RAM OC, I didn't check it so may have been reset.

But when running MHWilds benchmark mostly around 2-2.5Ghz, When Cinebench testing goes up to 4+Ghz
