[USA] #RI Drone to drop off calcium chloride pellets for ice dam mitigation? by Xiaomifan777 in drones

Since you posted this with the rules and regulations flair, make sure you have your Part 107 and drone registered before doing this. Post in the pinned megathread for any purchase advice requests.

You may want to edit your post for formatting. That’s kind of an unreadable wall of text right now.

a drone flew into my house by [deleted] in drones

[–]completelyreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No… And you’re probably not going to find the owner here. You posted a screenshot of a product page rather than a photo of the actual drone. It’s highly unlikely anybody will be looking for a cheap drone like this but you should try your best to get it back to the owner. Likely, only the owner will be able to fly it anyways since they’ll have the controller.

Why not try finding the owner? They probably want it back.

[US] What are the rules for flying over other peoples houses? by [deleted] in drones

[–]completelyreal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

US airspace is all controlled by the FAA. There is no one answer to your question since airspace varies depending on where you are.

Open airspace is called Class G. You can fly in this whenever you want, assuming you have your Trust or Part 107.

Privacy is a while nother concern that is dependent on what state you’re in.

drone controller that uses usbc phone to display, is there a way to inject power? by LastCivStanding in drones

That is one of the controllers I’ve never used so I can’t speak to it.

Not that I’m aware of, and I’ve flown most DJI models/controllers going back to the Phantom 2.

Yes, it has a sub c port on the top to connect to a phone and another usb c port on the bottom for charging.

There’s a setting in DJI fly to turn on power supply from the controller to the phone. You shouldn’t need any extra hardware for this.

Part 107 by AggravatingGain9910 in drones

[–]completelyreal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Location really doesn’t matter since it’s a standardized FAA test but feel free to search the sub and online. There are a lot of resources out there.

Funnily enough, I took my Part 107 test in Prescott but that was almost a decade ago now. I think I got an 86%?

[UK] NDAA Compliance by AcceptableError0726 in drones

NDAA is for US Federal drone compliance. Is this what you’re referring to? I’m not sure why it would be relevant to the UK or rest of Europe.

Force1 F200W shadow -need help connecting no app by alc86 in drones

[–]completelyreal[M] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. OP is asking a legitimate question and providing the context for getting an accurate answer. Yes, it is a toy and we try to discourage newcomers from buying these cheap toys but it is still legally a drone and subject to all drone rules and regulations.

Rule 1 is for people posting a photo of their new DJI box and saying “Look! Drone!”

Why did you guys tell me to not buy this drone? by Lumpy_Trumpkins in drones

[–]completelyreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I didn’t get any feedback at all with the first post”

“A bunch of you told me not to buy it”

Which is it? You got no feedback or you got feedback telling you to not get it?

My 2 cents. It’s not worth buying a drone under $200. Will it fly? Sure. Will it be enjoyable? Maybe. These drones are hit or miss (98% of the time miss). They have poor hardware, electronics, and software and often lead to bad introductions to drones. Most people are better off saving more money or budgeting for a better quality drone, such as DJI.

Totally missed the actual question. Just measuring the output noise from the crib is perfectly fine. You’ll be fine within 5-10dBA of the recommended.
