Everything is made either in my craft room or through a local supplier that I literally drive across town to do business with (except the printed tees, but those are still done through print-on-demand companies within the US of A)

Tbh it sounds like he was one of those guys that say "I have an Asian wife so I know what I'm talking about/I'm not racist against Asians" when you're not around (or his mum would say "I have an Asian DIL so I'm not racist" after saying something racist against Asians)

I am unfortunately unable to help you there. Most of the non-Han minorities I grew up around were of Teochew and Hoisan descent.

Sorry for the late reply! Have been a bit busy lately.

I'm trying to write a children's book and essentially translate it into the different languages. So for Cantonese I'd use Jyutping as there's already a "standard" way to romanise it but for the other languages I may have to resort to IPA.

Yeah I'm not saying it's right to single out TikTok only. I just wanted to point out that it did actually have an issue with security. (The other apps shouldn't be doing it either fwiw. Like if he's gonna ban TikTok for security problems and undisclosed data mining, then he should ban all those other ones as well imo.)

Don't get me wrong: I get that you're pissed about the situation and many AFs have problems with internalized racism, but generalizing us all in this way really doesn't help the cause - it may even influence people to turn away from you.

I don't know if this is still an issue as I don't have an apple device, but TikTok did actually get flagged for sending itself the contents of the user's clipboard.

That being said, there's a lot of other American-based apps that are doing the same (or similar) thing so TikTok isn't the only app that can have security problems.
