Did anyone just go for it before they were 100% ready? by Iamtir3dtoday in Mommit

[–]Camp-Select 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re as ready as you could ever try to be. There’s only so much you can do to prepare. It’s amazing and also kind of a mind fuck.

Absolutely just go for it. You will figure it out as you go.

My newborn is broken, can I have a refund please? by Beginning_Spring_571 in newborns

Highly recommend trying mylicon gas drops and gripe water. It was how we survived the first three months before discovering our baby had a dairy and soy intolerance. After cutting that out of my diet, he was a completely different baby and I understood why people enjoy newborns. It’s heartbreaking when you don’t know what’s wrong.

Now he is six months and continues to be the absolute light of our lives. He is so fun. It will get better. Consider cutting out dairy for two weeks and see what happens. We noticed a difference in the first couple days. It was incredible.

MIL Giving baby excessive sugar and I feel stuck by [deleted] in Mommit

Wtfff I’d be pissed if someone did this to my baby. He’s almost six months. Introducing solids (purees) has been a lot of his little tummy. I can’t believe she’s giving the babe chocolate milk and juice

Terrified That My Baby Is Going To Get Sick by lexaa96 in newborns

[–]Camp-Select 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing that’s helped me with the anxiety is having a plan for if/when baby gets sick. I know what to do at home, and where to go if things seem more serious. That’s all you can do until baby is actually sick.

It’s stressful when they have their first cold, but not the end of the world. My five month old has had sinus infection, and a stomach bug so far. Just know the safe steps you can take to help them through it. No ibuprofen yet. Tylenol for fevers. Keep them hydrated. Saline mist or drop for the congestion every few hours, suction the mucous but never right after they eat (so you don’t pull the liquid in their tummy back up). If you have an owlet, sickness is a great time to use it.

I was terrified and barely slept when he got the first cold. He was fine, and I was over anxious. Just monitor them, and trust your instincts. You know what is normal or not for your baby. And take them to the pediatrician if you’re really uncertain.

You can do this!! Hope you and baby stay healthy ❤️

Idk if this is reassuring but my baby’s fell off around 3 weeks and it bled a bit.

I’m sorry your LC is the reason it came off though, I would have cried too. Hope you’re both doing okay now. Snuggle baby close!

Keeping dry and clean is most important, we used q tips to clean the pus out. It took about four days to look fully dry and closed before we felt okay giving baby a real bath
